| This is turning in to another p*ss up in a brewary moment for the RFL,no wonder our game is not taken seriously in the media. When the clubs dont know when, were and what time they are playing. These sort of things should be looked at the begining of the season, having the 5th round and QF so close together make no sense and the semi`s are not till july.Surely the QF`s could have been at the end of may, this shambles could have been avoided

| I feel for every fan from all clubs involved as it is they who ultimately have wait to see which day/time their respective team plays on. There will be many left disappointed if they cannot attend due to the incompetence of those in charge and it is an embarrassment to Rugby League in general.

| I read yesterday, was told yesterday and read again today in the Wigan Evening Post, that Leigh would be playing on Fri at 8 Scooter Nik. The fact that this is now unconfirmed, is obviously to do with the pies struggling to find somewhere to play. They want Fri night, the beeb want them as their Sat afternoon spot. At no point have I blamed our club Nik ( it's nowt to do with us pal) but surely you can see all this is a SHAMBLES. I think we all know Leigh have slightly less clout than the pies ha ha.

| Wigan should have had plans in place in case they were drawn at home - which they had 50% chance of getting. Now the whole weekend is on hold for all 8 teams. They've had more than 24 hours to sort it so they should forfeit home advantage now.
Was surprised that the Beep was so quick to announce they were televising the 2 biggest (!) games. Be better if we're not on tv anyway - stop all those sitting in the pub/armchair - they need to get to the ground and cheer on the lads.

They have something more more important to worry about then - it's "Magic" weekend!!....you know? that concept were they'll take the whole of SDL 'on the road', and promote the game to a whole new audience of devotees? It has worked so well in Wales and Scotland, that this year they're taking it all the way to Manchester!!
Maybe if they spent a fraction of the money they waste flogging that particular dead horse, and used it to promote the world's oldest, and most well known Rugby League competition, they wouldn't be struggling to find a venue - to host a qtr final featuring the biggest derby in the sport - that doesn't look too empty for the TV cameras!!!
Do anyone think that wendyball would treat the FA Cup in this way? It may no longer carry the kudos or finacial value of the Premier league, or Champions league - but it is still mapped into the season as one of the cornerstones of the game.

| there is another thread, asking how we market the leeds game, well getting the bloody basics in place, like date and time would be a start, the best marketing guru in the world would struggle to market an event no bugger knows when its on.

| The draw for this competition is open and above board. What is completely intolerable, is to have the BBC hugely influence things by virtually dictating who must give up home advantage. If W***n and Huddersfield can play their games at home on any date between 11 - 13 May (the allowed dates for this round) they should be allowed to play them on those dates. If those dates don't coincide with the BBC's schedule, let the BBC select the other two ties.
I believe SKY are probably influencing this too, by not wanting to go to France.
In fact there's only one game that could, theoretically, be played on any of the three days - Leigh v Leeds, and we all know which two teams are going to get ****** on from a great height here, don't we?

| Yet more signs that we are to be on Sky on the Friday. Leigh updates just said a few minutes ago that their sources indicate that Leigh V Leeds is on Fri at 8 on Sky. Of course this may not be accurate. What a joke and a mess this is.

Referees are like women, they make snap decisions and never reverse them.

Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.:simpsons/PDT13.gif |

Wigan have known for weeks when the 1/4 finals were due to be played and should have a contingency plan in place to cover the scenario that has occurred.
Then again the RFL should have scheduled the rounds better 4th round clashed with Grand National & FA Cup semis and now the 1/4s clashing with final round of PL games and championship/league1/2 play-offs.

Agree totally.
The RFL need to look at how serious they view the cup and if they have really maximised the crowd potential this season- wall to wall football coverage in Britain the quarter final weekend was always going to happen so waiting a few weeks might have helped (certainly waiting 1 week until the Premier league is done would have made common and business sense).
As for Wigan, they have known for a long time that they are 2nd fiddle at the DW so should have planned for any eventuality, contingency plans to move it to Widnes / Leigh / wherever should have been thought of with contacts made to ensure this went smoothless - I suspect they want a home tie but need to play it Friday to keep the ground owners happy - the BBC don't want to lose the plum tie , rightly so but Leigh / Leeds / Wire / Catalan etc, etc should not be left waiting because of this.
Our game finished circa 5pm sunday and the fact we do not know when we are playing next weekends fixture makes the whole set up look rank very poor and is now a farce.

| Not having a go at you Dick, but we should have something concrete by now,not i heard this or someone said that. Not Leigh`s fault either, we will have about 8 days to market the biggest game for years. That is if it can be sorted anytime soon, its turned into an absolute farce
