Welcome to the board Mike and I'm not knocking your OP, it's something we all know we're poor at, but at work we’ve tried on many an occasion to communicate with the workforce by putting posters up with various info on. Unless you can take all other info down it can gets lost amongst everything else, or no one bothers to stop and read it.

We’ve now found that by putting ‘the message’ on the outside of their wage slips, we get more feed back, (not always a good thing!

) but as they take the message home at least we know they or perhaps their wife, sees it.

Would it be possible to try something like that? Perhaps ask shops to stick an advert on the box containing the goods their customers have purchased.

Something along the lines of printed self-adhesive address label, stuck to a Pizza box lid, lid of a meal box from local sandwich shop/Chinese, Toy’s from Argos, TV from Comet, etc? Would cost pennies to produce.

White address label Red writing perhaps saying….

Maybe to much text but you get the idea, needs the shops to support it but aren’t certain shops like Munchies Sandwich Shop, Leigh DIY, etc already supportive, start with them and build on it from there.

That would certainly tie in with having shops as 'official supplier of .... for Leigh Centurions' etc as a progression from that. I think the traditional 'stationary' posters can come in handy in takeaways and the like though when people are waiting around and reading whatever is on the wall (I know the Mandarin on Leigh Road have still got a 2009 fixture list displayed!)

Hi ste, I could design small laminated flyers advertising The Leigh Centurions and showing the website address. I will put them on my counter for anyone to take.If I am given permission I will do this right away.Oh and by the way ,I do have a website and i already advertise the Leigh Centurions on a drop down menu.

Ok billboard campaigns might be something the club looks at once we're in the super league but i do think we need to look at a way to advertise the club more succesfully - and cheaply. I think the club needs to take more advantage of its status in the community- Leigh has several big supermarkets in the vicinity of LSV (Asda, Tesco, Lidl, Sainsbury's, Aldi & Morrisons to name a few), all serving the vast majority of Leigh residents, would it not be an idea to have one A1 poster in each supermarket foyer advertising the next Centurions match? wouldnt cost much and which store manager in his right mind would refuse? in the end of the day more supporters means another box ticked, another step closer to the super league and the obvious benefits for both the club and the local economy (which would obviously benefit the supermarkets), its a win-win. A poster advertising the next match, half-time entertainment, ticket price etc in each supermarket and a few in the shops in the town centre (such as Cokey's) and im sure we'd see an increase in attendances.

By moving games to friday evenings the club would be aiming at a young ordiance,young families,couples and singles,if thats the case then FB, twitter and other outlets of this type seem to be the way forward these days,also the club need to aquire as many email addresses as possible so they can communicate as much info about leigh rl as possible,maybe once a month.

Iv'e no idea how or why but iv'e recieved a few emails from the crusaders and one today from the south wales scorpions giving me info about there clubs.
