The problem you have is , what process do you go through ? , do you advertise and ask for applicants ? , or do you ring up who you consider potential targets ?
Each time you change coaches the circumstances are different , with Tony , we had time to advertise , we got around 30 applicants and interviewed about 6/7 , this after getting references and checking up on the interested parties
Darren Shaw was part of that interview process and was therefore contacted the following time , Paul had the assistants job when Darren left and so was a hopefully seamless and quick option , Neil was at the time a logical choice , and a popular one , probably because of how well he had done against us , which quite often is a reason people are selected
Maybe this time as has been suggested we will ask Ians opinions as that option is available to us
Every time it is different , there is no right or wrong way to go about it
