Good idea but £20 maybe a bit much ,think it should be less maybe around the £15/16 mark for the full 12 months

In reality very few people can / will commit to giving £20 a month to their club on top of season ticket cost etc etc.

I thought the idea was that a season ticket was included?

that was my thought too, the club would have to make everybody sign some sort of agreement/contract so we dont decide to get the goodies and then cancel the direct debit

I think it is. My response was to those eluding to it as an extra too ST!

I floated this idea on the Eagles forum for our club. I think it's a great and say the 1st 500 members get an exclusive shirt or something to help drum up interest.

Having direct debit instead of people having to cough up a huge amount for a season ticket at once is good plus having money come straight out of your account means you don't miss it as much! Money would also be coming into clubs in the off season to help prepare for the next season..

Just the admin side of things which I think would be difficult to set-up but once it's done it would be fairly simple to run..

Should be all about helping fans feel part of the club but also promote the clubs. Exclusive offers, free stuff, means other fans will want in and join too. Things Widnes are doing such as weekly email and exclusive news via text are easy & cheap to run, again it's just the setting up which would take time.

If a 1,200 fans join for £15 a month you'd be looking at £216,000 coming into the club from this alone.

Great idea and wish Eagles would run something like this.

I have it on good authority that when we offered ' terms ' to pay for season tickets a few years back , we had people cancelling their DD after receiving their ST , so unless you can guarantee payment or come up with a cast iron way of de activating a ST , it probably is a non starter

I suppose they could "NAME AND SHAME " have their name put up on the big screen ,let everyone know who they are

Idea is 10 months at £20, 50% in the bank before a game is played, issue tickets to the first half of the season and do the same later on for the 2nd half. DD only makes it easy to administer. You belong to a club with an exclusive shirt not available anywhere else and socialise with like minded fans before/after games.

Sounds like a plan , apart from the ' Retro ' shirt bit , unless you bring out a new ' retro ' every year

The database of membership will be available to the club to do with it what they want , be that a membership scheme , Trust , or whatever they decide

I would do a retro every year, have a great contact to get shirts from - Coat of Arms embroidered and maybe a 'Proud Leyther 2012' under it.

Well I hope they do it ,its a great concept ,plus it would look great with all the shirts being worn too
