Well we are at the LSV. The costs of staging a home game are quite staggering.

Now why are those costs so staggering ? Well you could ask the many people employed by Wigan Council to "run" the LSV so successfully.



Should I ever be elected Prime Minister then I could sort it. I would also ensure that on matchdays the only place where alcohol could be purchased in the Leigh and district area would be at the LSV thus guaranteeing the 4000 average we need to be self sufficient.

Leigh has an MP who claims to support sport in the town. He holds surgeries at his constituancy offices every Saturday morning. Everyone has a democratic right to speak to their MP one to one at these surgeries. Now if a load of Leigh Supporters turned up to see him and demanded that he does something about the LSV situation he can not ignore them.

Would be a start and is a good idea.

We need fans involvement. Just waiting for something to happen is not going to get us anywhere.

Fans need to act fast. We need money pledges by either sending PM's to Maurice or folk joining LISA.

This is urgent.Please do not sit on your hands today anyone who can afford to PM Maurice.

Lets get our club on a roll again.

We have a week to turn this around we can do it we are Leythers.

Frank - thank you very much for this post it is exactly what was needed. I hinted in a recent post that I felt Maurice's idea of a supporters trust was needed.

This takes nothing away whatsoever from LISA which needs to focus on accumulating the multitude of smaller donations that people can afford. We need a tier above that which focuses on those who are prepared to commit to a larger sum of money over a longer period. I am "in" and will PM Maurice immediately.

I've made my pledge for three years. Not a fortune by any means, but I've also been 'pledging' three days per week, of my time, for all home matches. It all helps.

Meanwhile, like Frank and Maurice, I implore anyone who can make a commitment, to do so. Obviously, not everyone can make a financial commitment - we all realise that - but maybe some time could be pledged, that could save the club some cost?

I'm sure that if anyone could offer to collect lifeline for free, sell programmes for free, steward for free, wash kits for free, play for free, canvas for the lottery for free then it will all help reduce costs or increase income for the club.

in that spirit maybe the LSV will let us play there for free!

Exactly Michael. Some of the possible roles I was thinking about - but without wishing to knock anybody who does these jobs and gets paid. I must also stress that my the posts for financial/working help are NOT knocking those who 'just' pay to watch/buy programmes/are Lottery membres/buy draw tickets, etc. To those people, obviously your continued help is also esential.
