4 points, 9 points, so what - it doesn't matter. If they finish bottom they still wont be relegated.
Like many things in RL recently - the game doesn't matter. Soon we will know which championship side will be in SL in 2012 season - so this season doesn't matter to them.
The team who win the champoinship this season, wont get promoted - so it doesn't matter.

Suppose it could matter for 2015 licence applications, IF the RFL decide to go along that route again.

| What? No boxes to tick this time. You have to feel for Halifax, Barrow and Fev and Batley (or whoever doesn't get in in March) as the boxes they ticked will then become unticked boxes like the rest of us.

| Quote FredParky="FredParky"Might have been J.C. wouldn't surprise me TBH as SL 'entrance' rules last time around was that a club shouldn't have been in liquidation/administartion to be admitted/allowed to stay in SL and they are dropping that one for them, again a lack of 'fairness' by the governing body.'"
Rubbish.
You need to learn the difference between SLE and the RFL.
The administration rule was dropped as the Crusaders arent the only club going down this road and if Leeds Rhinos lose the test case in court on behalf of the RFL they could well find themselves taking this option also. Turkeys don't vote for christmas.
I agree it should be a set standard rate accross the board, except for mitigating circumstances, like, what could happen with the Rhinos for example where it's said the one payment to HMRC would be in excess of £1 million.

| so the corrupt tail is now officially wagging the dead dog, SLE fans need to know the difference between what is the law and what is lawfull if they think not paying the HMCR is fair, as it would seem the SLE clubs change the rules to suit themselves then the RFL take those rules and try and strictly apply them to the Championship clubs.

| But it WAS the law.
If they broke the law people would be in serious trouble.
As it stands the HMRC are engaging in a d*ck waving contest by punishing things retrospectively from 5 years ago.
If they want to close these loopholes; great, but as is typical with the government they want to play once upon a time game. Punishing from when the loopholes were closed - fair enough but then they'd have nothing to do with all their jobs for the boys

| I didnt dodge SB's question at all.
Anything done before the loophole was closed was within the law and within the rules of the game was it not? If it wasnt why has no club been brought up under a breach of the salary cap? Why are the RFL backing Leeds' court case?
Punishing for years before a loophole was closed is downright 'I can do it because im bigger than you'. Its like those salt shakers in Wolverhampton last week, you couldnt make it up. Government workers have nothing better to do than be a pest.
My dad used to work for a council; when he wasnt playing golf or table tennis on works time he still had little to do. These guys are just bored and need a hobby instead of picking on the little man that is RL. They should have just gone for Premiership Soccer outright and left us alone
