| I reckon they'll have to go with someone who is currently out of work because they wont want to pay any compensation. I'd imagine they'll want someone with experience of the position they're in though.
I'd imagine they must have someone in mind to have done it like they have so it's going to make for an interesting few days.

I suspect it will be Alan Curbishley, he's been in that situation before with Charlton.

| They could do alot worse than Hughes. Manchester City haven't got a clue how a club needs to be run. They've got more money than sense now and are making just as bad decisions as they did when they didn't have much money.
I remember the season they sacked Peter Reid after 4 games after he'd got them in the top 6 the season before... absolute madness.
Jewell would be my bet... he was linked with the job when Megson got it and he's got a knack of getting results. He's also honest and up front which is something the supporters will appreciate. Whoever it is I'm sure attendances will go up as I know people who having been going because of Megson.

| Jewell is probably the one man who has a similar relegation ratio to Megson!

We have gone through some managers, and I think panicking has ruled at City for years. Expectation levels (unrealistic sometimes) didn't help. Tho examples like Reid getting fired off was a joke, I think Hughes just didn't have what it took at City tbh. He ripped the heart out of our defence before making gradual changes. He pursued some players publicly in such a way that Moyles and Big Sam where rubbing their hands with the amount of money they got for players that where no better than what we had. Our defensive problems got worse by the match. Not many City fans where confident of beating Stoke at Home, and Wolves away when Hughes was in charge. The media (who built his sacking up for the last 12 months) have over hyped it all of sudden - they handled it very badly no doubt but the change had to be made. They could have waited for the semi in a wait and see, but with a banana skin away in FA cup looming it wasn't worth the risk.
He did great at Blackburn tho.
