I can tell you that the Leigh Asda store is one of the biggest moneymakers in the Northwest (After Wi8an) They have been looking to expand for years and tried to buy the piece of spare land between Patak's and Sainsbury's!

Like Matt said it's probably for the best that we move on into our new stadium and start a new era of Leigh Centurions.

I'm upset HP is going but obviously we have to move on now.

We've all got so many memories but I didn't want to see the old girl decay any further, it's really taken some stick the last 12 months or so from complete idiots who need flogging publically in my opinion.

Glad the place isn't going to be left to rot away. We all have our memories of HP so it's good that it's finally going to make way for something new. Wonder if there'll be a few hauntings in whatever is built there, after all there were quite a few ashes spread on the HP turf.

I had a dream last night that just before the scoreboard was demolished the clock started working again

I watched it being demolished today and I've got to say it was very sad seeing all the seats being ripped out!

I'd like more pictures.... difficult for those working out of the town but these should be taken for prosperity.

It was me who took the pictures at the top of the thread and I've got loads. I'm going to go every day to see what 'progress' is being made - I'm sorry but being new to this site I wasn't sure whether you could post photos!
