953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |
|
| No early bird this season so the correct comparison (ie without the politician style spin) would be with the full price last season. I don't know what it was but I reckon it would show an increase of 10-15% as opposed to your alarmist 55%.

I'd say it's also probably worthwhile comparing with 2010 prices as there were a little more realistic if memory serves me right versus last year's price cut.

They were given 48 hours to make the decision, glow. (hence, at the time of the Forum, they did believe that Sunday was our day) One of our objectives - a big one - is to build a database of all our regular fans, for communication info.to/from.
Don't forget, the 'corporate' people we refer to, are fans too.

Possibly - but it's a heck of a long time in advance, to have all your weekends planned. Makes me realise just what a waste of time attempting to communicate with supporters could be, if they are really 100% organised, that far in advance.

Don't forget you can reserve your seat when you buy your season ticket'"
Maybe not all the other 2,000 go on this board though j-i-c? If you took the objectors on here, you could argue that only 20 or so supporters actually object to Friday nights?

| After a fantastic last year on the field for Leigh, This to me is a terrible decision, Your fan base has increased for the last 3 years and Many of the Loyal fans who follow home and away are now not going to bother,They wont drag their mates along etc, The away support will also drop which will bring your average gate down,You ticked a Major box with the NRC cup win last year and would have though you would have pushed for the crowd average box to be ticked this year, then next season concentrate on everything else, (widnes style).
Leigh have been in financial trouble twice in a short space of time,Saved from relegation only 2 seasons ago to last seasons performances is remarkable, lets remember the fans make the club, without them and the LISA memberships etc would you still be here as a club. Why would a rugby club ask players when they would like to play ?. My employer doesn't ask me when i would like to work. They get paid to do a job, simple as that, they get told when to play and if its no good then perhaps another club would be better suited.
Corparate hospitality is great and so is sponsorhship, but remember companies and sponsors struggle in this economic climate as you know too well, The fans are the cogs in the mechanism and everything else is just the wheels, without the cogs, nothing works

Pity the alco pop brigade who think fridays nights will be the night to party and watch leigh at the same time seem some what deluded, but as long as the kiddies can drink there alco pops on a friday night who are we too complain.
Mind you they are properly the ones who make you cringe when you see them chanting the usual nonsense at games

Or alternatively it means I know I and other families can attend the game without a risk of "the weather's nice, let's go to the beach" etc which undoubtedly affects some of our crowds on a Sunday.

The club had 48 hours to make a decision in unusual circumstances - e.g can't use the pitch for 6 weeks, (do 'Fax consult the fans about when they want games played, to compensate for that, when the Shay is being seeded?) and sharing with another Championship club for a season. (were 'Fax's fixtures given priority, when Huddersfield were sharing, last season?)
We would dearly like to be in a position of being able to communicate direct with all our fans, and we are actually working on that.
As for asking the players, well they've suffered a lot currently, and the least we can do is talk to them, which doesn't actually cost us anything!

Fax know too well about sponsors and corparate packages etc not going according to plan, Link Telecom who were a big sponsor of fax went under whilst sponsoring us and it had a big effect. However it all turns out i wish your club nothing but the best, I wont be able to travel to any friday night games this year and will miss this fixture above all the others, the friendly atmosphere and chanting was fantastic last year in every encounter. Perhaps i might have to hope its on TV and buy a decent surround sound package and whack the volume up.

Halifax have had 4/5 yrs of consistant growth on the field and yet you still struggle to get above 2000 home spectators, why is that?.

I'd expect our game to get shifted to the Thursday. Hoping so anyroad as I can't make the Friday either, but so be it.

You know how people who no longer attend Leigh games harp on about 1971, 1981/82 etc and how that means we might as well be playing pub rugby these days? Well 'Fax were in third spot as recently as 1998 so I think they face our problem ten-fold!

| Whilst the Fax man makes some good points I think he is wrong about the away support.
Lets be honest Fev Fax and last season Widnes brought a decent following but for whatever reason the rest do not. That is an undeniable fact.
Now regarding this coming season the matches against Fax and Fev would have probably been televised anyways.
Some cannot make Fridays well we still have some games on Sundays.
You cannot please everyone when it comes down to deciding on which day to play.
Swinton applied to the LSV company to play at the stadium. They did not apply to or ask Leigh RLFC for permission because they have no say in the matter.
