| Jo Platt was s member of the Shadow cabinet, so obviously a Corbynite and a self confessed remoaner. So she got her just deserts managing to lose a 13,000 majority built up by Andy Burnham. The writing was on the wall the Saturday before the election after a daily mail poll showed the Tories at 40% to Labour 39 %. On Bradshawgate you couldn’t move for Labour canvassers for the first time ever!!

Jo Platt went against the party whip to vote Johnson's deal through to second reading. She voted against May's deal, which was widely condemned, particularly by ardent, frothing at the mouth leavers that like to use the term "remoaner" (figures such as Boris Johnson).
The one thing she has voted to block is No Deal brexit. In about 5 months time, Grundy will be faced with a similar dilemma.

I voted at the time to remain but accepted the result, unlike all the remoaners led by all the luvvies in London out of touch with the silent majority,

| There was no such thing as a deal on the ballot paper anyway.

| Jo Platt, like Nandy voted for a second reading as they saw the writing on the wall for an election and thought "oh, I'm an MP for a leave majority constituency, perhaps I should look like I'm doing something to respect democracy."
Too little, too late. With Nandy still parroting on about a customs union, she clearly hasn't understood what leaving the EU is.
Though, to be pedantic, the referendum did say not to be a "member" - i.e. we can not be a member but still be part of all their institutions, if some were to follow that referendum to the letter.
To the point about "No Deal." This is the legal default, as decreed by the action of activating Article 50 and therefore if nothing is signed by the 31st January 2020, we leave with no deal, unless the government amend the act to delay again but then they'd be doing it as themselves as there isn't the cat and mouse no majority that May and the first months of Boris as PM had to deal with.
And one other point. Even if the WA/PD is signed and we enter into the transition phase which is due to end in December of 2020, the UK government can legitimately just tear up any agreement and still leave without "a deal."
Yes not exactly gentlemanly conduct but the threat of "no deal" never goes away.
Logically the UK government with its huge majority should have the whip hand in negotiations with the EU now but we shall just all see how it plays out.
Like we've had to suffer through for the last 3 1/2 years.

They'd be even more insufferable! ("You're just a small town without a Prime Minister")

It would appear that one party judged the mood of the electorate, (especially in the North) while the other two main parties failed miserably to do so.
