Quote JENKY="JENKY"A class player who no doubt will be one of the first names on the team sheet.
A skilful tough forward who is as fit enough, comfortable and gifted at off loading in the tackle passing when running and getting up supporting play as he is at tackling and defending is as rare as hens teeth in Great Britain.
Rowley knows we have one of the best and thankfully the chances of him being dropped are nil.'"
Quote JENKY="SRW1996"Spot on Jenky, Sam Barlow is a SL class forward playing in Championship RL.
Salford had done their homework on Sam and every time he took the ball yesterday two/ three defenders wrapped him up. He couldn't offload like he would normally do he was a constant thorn in Salford's side and sucked in defenders and creating space for others.
His defence is always reliable and his footwork excellent and he's the kind of player you want in your team and don't want against you.'"
[iAll that Andy, plus the lad is a character, and there aren't all that many of them in the Sport! Sure, he can occasionally be frustrating, but he's only young - imagine how good he can be when he 'matures' as a forward.
As for dropping him because a risky offload cost us a try, what about Tom Armstrong's howler of a pass, in his own '20', that lead to Salford's try in the second half? So, following on from the poster's suggestion, we obviously have to drop Armstrong too!
I reckon Sam put in much more game time than usual, along with the three '80 minute men', (Beswick, Goulden and Dixon) and Spencer, Emmitt and Hopkins. Aspinwall and Hock, both heavily strapped, only did comparatively short stints and Worthington didn't get on at all. So, even more plaudits to our forwards yesterday.[/i
