Just voted for my player of the season, a easy decision. Martyn ridyard by a country mile, quite simply he has been head and shoulders above anybody else. You can tell how vital he is to us when he got injured v fev back in my and missed 5/6 games, also he is playing without a real commanding scrum half, much as we all love kes, he aint no watson or ellis.

Well Stephen if you think Kes is not in Watsons class you must be more drunk than me. icon_rolleyes.gif

Ian Watson is about my age and is a great tactician however. icon_wink.gif

I had a few in mind but went for Ridyard in the end as I reckon he has been the overall player of the team with some very close seconds.

I didn't vote for riddy as our 2 wingers have been stood on the touchline with there arms in the air begging for a long ball to be thrown for 3 seasons now, maybe if Rowley stood in the north stand for 1 game he might see it to

Well Charlie, I have seen a young Ian Watson give an on field master class in scrum half play on many occasions for Salford, Widnes and may I add against some of the worlds best 7's whilst playing for Wales.

Even in his later years at Leigh and from watching him at close hand, He was still great at marshalling the troops and directing us round the park with more than a decent kicking game on him as well.

A most talented and under rated scrum half for me. I would not mind an up and coming 19/20 year old clone in our ranks next year.

I urge supporters to get behind this event. If it's anything like last year's it will be a superb evening, with the added bonus that this one will be at OUR HOME. Now's your chance to mix with the players/coaching staff, and show your appreciation for their efforts this season.

The winner of the Leighlife Fans' Player of the Year 2013 award went to Tom Spencer.

He was both surprised and delighted and said it meant a lot that the fans had voted for him.

Well done kiddo. eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

It worked out great that didn't it.

Nice to see Tom there too.

Gutted that a few of the players were away, Riddy and Ryan in particular as theyv'e been a big part in our sucess this year.

Quote: Happy Hooker "Early days but it looks like it could go to a wigginer. I don't mind though Tom has shown a real passion for the club and I hope he's announced as a signed player at the LISA meeting on Wed ( unless the Sonny Bill rumours are confirmed )

Wish we could have had a bet on the result, I said this on the second post.
Well done Tom, Im sure Shaun Wayne will choke on his pie when he notices your play next season. icon_wink.gif
