Profits split between the RFL and the finalists IIRC.

Very different, RFL revenue is inflated this way. In the same way as our reveue would look better if we took the income and then paid LSV costs.

Don't see any problem with that as it's the RFL who organise the event and effectively foot the cost of the tickets allocated to the clubs.

Gate receipts to RFL. RFL pays fixed amount of prize money to finalists which isn't dependant on ticket sales.

Remember Warrington saying that they only realised how profitable the Challenge Cup was after they had won it with the vst amount of revenue that comes from souveniers, replicas, RFL money, sponsors and other coverage it brings.
