| Quote Nozzy="Nozzy"Could be a good call. Lots of people calling for Donlan to go FB and i agree but wouldn't like to drop Morty because he's played very well and earned a spot in the team. Could go Donlan fullback. Mort and Alstead wings and Higson/Rudd/Reay as the centres with Stanton getting a go at Stand Off. Gotta be better than Marsh was today???'"
Would stick Morty on the wings at the very least. In attack, he's been our biggest threat in recent games and took his try superbly today.
We completely fell apart when Watson went off - take a look how many times we 'ran' the ball on the last tackle because they didn't have an organiser to construct the sets of six and weigh up when to kick. Also thought Marsh's kicking game was utter bobbins today, though Armistead appears to have a decent short-range kicking game.

| Would rather have Ridyard in than Marsh. Lee looks alot heavier than he did last season and pretty clueless in defence and attack.
Ridyard can only get better with time and games, surely he's the way to go if we can't sign anyone with experience.

sorry but cant agree we are awful on the 6th tackle with or without watson and have been all season wouldnt like to guess how many times we have meakly handed over a ball on sixth tackle this season and did it twice today with the "organiser" on the pitch.

| Quote The Leyther="The Leyther"It looked like Rourke who gave it from where I was stood.
Agreed about Jock, he had a hand in two of tries and look dangerous when he took the ball from dummy half. Durbin doesn't seem to attack the defensive line as much as he did pre-season, not sure why this is but he certainly is effective when he does it.'"
I thought it was Rourky too. Think Stanton or Reay was trying to console him on the edge of the huddle behind the try line. Only two words for me to sum up the last 30 minutes...lumbering and clueless and why the hell was Durbin constantly miles away from the action. Top 6 may be beyond this team, rugby brains seem to be scarce and half the team does not look fit.

| Marsh is playing out of position, kelly has clearly stated he wants him in the back row - will have to learn how to defend though

| Quote kirkhall="kirkhall"Who would you suggest? I went to Widnes on Friday and big money/reputation signing Webster was rubbish! I' ve never seen Watson give anything other than 100% in attack and defence for any team I've seen him play for and, we can't be a better side with another scrum half because the other Players are rubbish! its probably the worst threequarter line at Leigh for years! Big signing Donlan is completely wasted/ineffective at centre, I like Ian Mort but Donlan [uis[/u a better fullback!'" Well I,m sorry to agree with you again in case I embarress you but thats my view too.
Mort stated his career at stand off I understand, although one doesn,t hear much rugby news in Salford. Donlan is a class act, like his dad was ,but he isn,t a centre.

Maden started his career at centre but he's barely a winger these days lol

| Quote optimist="optimist"Totally agree that we fell apart when Watson left the field, which further underlines what a big asset he is to the team.
However there's a few points i'd like to make in regard to todays game.
1/ Why did the referee allow play to continue, when Watson was flat out with blood pouring from a gaping head wound.
2/ Why did N.K use up all his changes so soon? From what i'm lead to believe Watson was stitched and bandaged and wanted to come back on!
In conclusion - If anyone would have offered me 4 points from the 2 Easter fixtures before a ball was kicked, then i'd of gladly taken it!'"
It was obvious to everyone that our organisation fell apart when Watto went off. Can't understand why Durbin was not moved in to half-back at that point - as he was wasted at centre!!
And don't get me started on Marsh!!! I've been a fan of Lee, but he was just a waste of space today. Can someone please explain to me how a lad with a boot as obviously powerful as he has is kickng to touch in virtually a staight line? If the main stand was not there those kicks would have ended up on the by-pass!! He should be booting 50-60 yards up field to take the pressure off the forwards....and booting the GLDOs over the half-way line!!
Like you say, if someone had offered me 4 points on Thursday I'd have snatched their hand off.....but after watching the first half today, and realising that Barrow are not actually as good as I had been led to believe, it's got to be seen as 2 points thrown away!!

Anyone can 'knock on' however in the second half Durbin was guilty of two, deep in 'enemy territory' when not under pressure!
