Thought Sheffield looked good going forward but highly suspect defending and that is probably what frustrated Aston as despite the numerous chances to win the game on the back of a very generous consistent penalty count and playing against a side with a huge injury crisis his side failed to break Leigh down to win the game.
Very much a deserved win by Leigh.

With stats like that, Mr Aston may like to reflect on how Sheffield got back into the game! The flow of a game is heavily influenced by possession - i.e. it's very hard to score, when you can't lay your hands on the ball! I believe that theory was amply demonstrated in our game against London when, in the first half the ref penalised us off the pitch (hence a big London lead) then turned in the second half (when we caught up and just managed to overtake them)
However, my theory didn't hold water at Bradford, when they retrieved that 26 point deficit!

Agreed Alan,that last 15 minutes at Bradford was nobody's fault other than our own. After saying that,We can work on that and try to put that right. What you can't do,Is legislate for a barrage of penalties of (which i might had), Is ruining the game at the moment, with the constant whistle blowing. No wonder Bachelors are sponsoring rugby league this year, the refs are blowing the peas out of their whistles.  |
