London Calling is a bit of a dirge on the intro though - If you want The Clash, then White Riot would be my call. Although if you can find it, there's a version of it by Italian band Redska that is much better IMHO.
For me: Step On - Happy Mondays (though "You're twisting my melon man" may be a bit precient!) Not really a favourite of mine, I do love that intro.

| At the risk of being labelled 'Flatcapper' we played 'Entry of the Gladiators' before our league fixture with them on the 9/9/1970 and, promptly thrashed them 36-8  Eight months later we beat them 24-7 at Wembley, without the music  I seem to remember 'Banner Man' by Blue Mink was popular in the charts at the time too! |
