| Taken from the earlier link! - "The Swinton squad currently looks like this Karl Ashall, Martin Ainscough, Chaz IāAnson, Mark Smith, Alex Hurst, Gavin Dodd, Dale Cunniffe, Mike Morrison, Lee Wingfield, Neil Holland, Richie Hawkyard, Darren Hawkyard, Sam Reay, Ian Watson, Andy Gorski, Danny Meekin, Tom Armstrong, Rob Foxen, Adam Higson, David Mills"
Aren't all the highlighted players ex-leythers? And are there any more that I've missed?
Team full of Leythers! They're just a team full of Leythers!
Seriously gutted to lose Millsy especially to another championship side. Its just another kick when we're all feeling down. But I supposed it can't be helped and i'll be back next season. Hopefully we can hold on to the likes of Taylor, Goulden, Riddy etc. One thing is for sure, the ones who stick with us through all this uncertainty deserve every bit of support and praise we can give them next season.
Getting desperate for some good news and/or signings now!

| We could stand all of this bad news if the club would just say something.
Even if it's only we hope there will be some news before the New Year!

wasn't one of your top scorers last year..Mick nanyn...an ex Swinton player, it goes both ways.As we are the only other club this side of the Pennines it's natural we will look at player based over here, Just as your club will have done and will do.

One ex-Swinton versus how many ex-Leigh?

| You're probably right Marshy. So give us a clue then - who have Swinton released for this season? That'll be who we have to pick from and, crucially, who we're relying on to bring punters in through the turnstiles.
Am gutted about Millsy - after Armstrong it really is pretty much the final straw (lets say the penultimate one, Riddy will be the final one when we lose him as well). I don't want to say I'm going to stop watching because I won't, but a lot of the money I'd have used to buy into whatever the club do from here on in will now be spent watching Swinton as well where possible.
People say we can't sign players without a coach - well the same directors have done it before. And when we're losing quality players who would otherwise have been prepared to re-sign for us I'd argue not to sign them is bordering on negligence. In fact this feels like Darren shaw all over again - not a dig at Darren, he was a nice enough bloke, but it feels like we're resigning ourselves to scraping out the bottom of the barrel with the cheapest players after everybody else has had their pick. What self-respecting coach is going to want to take that job on, trying to follow on from a successful squad with one selected from the leftovers after all the decent players have gone? The more players we lose the more we put the new coach in an impossible position. And I can honestly say if I was a coach currently applying for the Leigh job, my application would already be withdrawn after this news.

| Stu donlan defo going to cas as full time assistant, dont know about bibey as last i heard he was playing next year. Looks like we might have a starting point of something like below hopefully !!!
1. Pownall
2. Maden
3. Littler
4. New player
5. Mgilvary
6. Ridyard
7. Brieley
8. Bibey
9. Duffy
10. Hopkins
11. Thornley
12. Goulden
13. Taylor
Briscoe, nicholson ( cant think of anyone else )
Not a bad starting point imo if we can keep all the above we should still be competitive .

| Have it on good authority that Swinton aren't offering big contracts and aren't particularly aiming for the top four but just looking to improve on last season's performances and hover around the fringes of the play-offs, something I think they will achieve quite comfortably.
Keep the faith with Leyth is the message!

| Matt i have it on VERY good Authority that Swintons Offer to Mills was MILES more than we offered him now if our offer was Peanuts theirs doesn't need to be BIG money but still a lot more than we put on the table!

Would definitely think it's more on the lines of Leigh offering peanuts rather than Swinton throwing the money about.
