| I e mailed Featherstone last night Linda, they said they were having a board meeting tonight and issues I highlighted would be discussed, I'm not going to say what i put in the e mail to hopefully keep this message postable. I was assured the e mail had been forwarded to match day director.

Lynda
Thank you for that.
Our directors will be discussing the problems at a board meeting tonight and I am sure one of them will keep you informed.
We have had quite a few complaints so I appreciate you have taken the time to contact us with your comments.
Regards
Veronica

| Emailed the Fev club too.
Without discussing the incidents, the organisation for getting away from the ground was shambles. We were stuck in the car park for about 25 minutes after the match - why was there no traffic control out onto the main road to relieve the congestion in the car park? With a following that Leigh have there was bound to be difficulties getting away.
Where was the police escort the coach was waiting for? When we did get away and more than half an hour after the game 1 police car passed us with its siren and lights flashing a mile and a half away from the ground followed by another police van a mile further on.
The whole situation was a shambles - nothing much has changed in 35 years.

was your helicopter out of service like? ......its not a shambles....its called queueing and going with the flow.....its not a massive place fev....you should know that if you've been coming 35years......regardless of the size of the following its never going to be a quick getaway if you park on the doorstep, whichever ground you're at........obviously your new facilities have gone to your head........hilton park was such a joy to get away from......in more ways than one

I`d have Hilton Park over your gaff every day of the week.............Likewise I always found the Journey out of Fev a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

| Other than the obvious delay due to the idiots, from when I actually bothered to start up the truck it took all of 5 minutes to get away, and I walked into our house just before 7.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

It's never been easy getting away from PO road , unless they had a police officer stopping the traffic down the road at the end , as stewards wouldn't have the authority to do that
The coach was due to be escorted to the main road by stewards after everybody else had left , as that is what had been requested and agreed , obviously the trouble and the pre meditated potential golf ball attack ( not suggesting these youths had even been to the game ) resulted in the police being called to calm things down
Personnally I thought the stewards did quite well as the trouble was moving about for a good ten minutes and don't forget , they are stewards , not police , they are not paid to directly stop people throwing punches at each other , do we really want to see ' doormen ' type stewards getting involved ?
What the solution is , well personally it might be worth Fev requesting a small police presence for the next couple of games , not what we really want to see and it can be expensive , but it might be the best option IMO

| Police control at the main junction is the obvious thing to me to ease the flow of traffic away from the ground.
Don't want to get into what happened after the game other than to say this was my first trip to Fev in over 30 years and felt in a time warp. All that was missing was the old woman who swiped the Leigh fan round the head with her handbag. We all swore at the time that she had a brick in it. I'm sure others will remember that incident too.

Queueing was civilised, as people alternated, between the queues to get out. You only had to be patient and wait your turn. It's not always been too quick away from our ground!

What were you expecting from a ground being 80/90 years old? unlike the LSV, we're bang in the middle of the town... not even traffic control (although that is a good idea) could have got you out within 20 minutes.

Ay up mate ow you doing
Police presence is the answer as no one will want locking up.
I also think both fans were as bad there was some right bellends on that coach of yours, 1 small guy who had his son with him and was wearing a green lacost top was telling every one who would listen to him that "we have all had it in Blackpool because hes getting a reyt crew" There was about 10 or 20 ed up who were wanting a ruck and the problenm we have at Fev is they wont have to look to hard to find 1. I know what Rovers fans can be like and i saw what some Leigh fans were like Monday, it needs stopping now because we will have some big games coming up and we dont want anyone else in hospital
