| We have players like Bibey and Armitstead in particular who like to keep the ball alive and I thought Bibey was unlucky, he took the wrong option in offloading, however, there should have been more 'push' from the players around him and they should have looked lively, McConnel was rooted to spot and wasn't expecting it, if he was on his toes and alive the outcome may have been different.
I was going to say, at least he offloaded in the right area of the pitch but that doesn't matter when we've got players slow in mind and body. The players should know the likeliness of an offload is higher when Bibey or Armitstead have the ball, they just have to offload at the right times in the right places but their team mates must expect it and be alive to it, we just lack that sort of smartness throughout our team.

| Quote: Leigh24.7 "I wouldn't call it a brainfart - more of a case of lazy players not doing their jobs and backing up. It must be easier for a prop to tuck the ball under his arm and run head down into the tacklers than to stay upright, release your arms and keep the ball alive. Not one player within yards of Ricky - that is scandalous - every runner should have players in support even if it's just to regather a loose ball. Do we want to return to the heads down and make 5 mtrs or do we want to keep the ball alive - I know which I would rather watch. Saints have offloaded like that for years but they have always had support - we can't fault Saints style can we? Ricky had a split second to decide wether or not to pass, he had commited a couple of players so a couple of quick passes could have found a gap - we are not quick enough are we.'"
Tommy Martyn used to say that was the biggest shock to him, when he arrived from Saints - players not being there to back up. He reckoned he never had to look when he offloaded at Saints - he knew that there would always be a couple of players, at least, in support. Mind you, we are talking about the difference between the top of SL, and our part-time competition!

| Even if there was a player stood half a yard behind Bibey, it was such a dreadful offload that they wouldn't have got it anyroad - the trajectory was completely wrong for any supporting player as it just flew high in to the air. Like I said though, he's been a top performer apart from that costly error.

Totally agree , it was a shocking offload! bibey has been a good player this year, since his hamstring he has been quiet! im sure he'll come good soon.
99% of his offloads are fantastic, he throws the odd bad one and he gets slated ! bit harsh IMO
As for alstead, he must be struggling with his hand because hes miles better than stanton

| Dave Alstead is a good player when he shows self belief,to me there is something on his mind as though hes not happy with his rugby,i dont know, but when he wants to Dave can be a very good winger Cmon Dave show us what you can do.

| We are missing Alstead at the moment. He is a sound performer in this division. We missed him last season too when he was injured for quite a few games. However, when he came back for the run in last year, he really helped boost us. We won a significant amount of our games in the run in last year I believe. Let's hope it's the same this time around. Hope you are back soon Dave.

I’ve posted before the Aussies have the view there’s no such thing as a poor offload, if you throw the thing backwards, its up to one of the other twelve to catch it, or at least be there to stop the opponent, we prefer to blame the passer.

They'd probably change their mind if they saw Bibey's It might as well have been a knock on as much as an offload. The technique of it was completely wrong, any supporting player would basically have to run over the top of him to get it.

My view of it was that it flicked in to the air at first and only went behind him for Briggs to pick up once it had bounced a couple of times. There again, I was watching from behind the sticks after a couple of pints

Thats what I saw! The Fev player was just miles quicker getting to it than we were which is scandolous considering it was closer to our players

..... and I'll be standing in the Hilton Park stand, yes that's right I've named the North Stand myself: |

| I've been criticising Bibey most of the season and on here as well. I don't see what he's doing for the team and my brother who goes with me and some guys I know at work don't think he punches his weight either. Can't remember him breaking a tackle in the home games or making many yards. Somebody in a Leigh should have collected his pass at Fev that could have happened to anyone.
I agree with regards to Alstead, I can never see the good case for dropping him. The way we play he rarely sees the ball playing on the wing anyway, I personally think he's a better centre than winger.

| Yeah I noticed that J.C. it was like he was out of favour after the Sheffield game. Only Millward know's the real reasons but Dave's a big miss for me when he's not in the 13.
Unfortunately I can see him being allowed to find another club in the off season if Millward is still with us but for me he's being under used. We don't get the ball to our wingers often enough as it so I think he's a bit wasted at times.

totally agree i think he has the potential to be a world beater in this divison with his power i just think he is worried about getting injured like last season because a couple of years ago he wasa like an extra forward the way he ran the ball in but with lightening speed to boot. But i still think he is reliable in defence & definately should be in 1st team if available
