You know, very basic rugby, a drive from a forward/back after 1st/2nd receiver pops it off.

With, as a variation, dropping the ball, or running into touch on the short side - especially on the first or second tackle of a hard-earned repeat set!

Obviously I support the Club as well as the Team, and wouldn't want us to go down the Keith Bell road again, but the comparisons are there, that year before a ball was kicked Leigh were redhot favourites to finish Top, by Christmas we were in the brown stuff and the end of season was disaster, now I think Derek has more no us than Keith Bell, but again in the cold light of day my question is ,Do we get rid of Jukesy and KC?Or keep the faith in them and try to stay focused on what we have?I'm not sure.'"
Afraid it will be more costly to keep them, unless there are guarantees about funding next season. Even then, there's the cost of the drop in crowds to consider.

I think you were a drive short in your set of 6.

The one thing we will not have if this rubbish continues to be served up will be supporters except the real diehards

The 4th tackle we generally do try and pass it at least through 3 pairs of hands.
My point (whilst being facetious) is we literally do the same thing over and over.
The players get instructed to not deviate from the planned sets (which are basic as hell).
Don't know about people on here, but I played rugby for many years and you have to have the flexibility to play what you see, to go for a break if it opens up.. The players are instructed not to do this. Its poor coaching.
Add to that a kicking game that is none existent we look rudderless out there. There is no game management, there is no pitch management. You could watch 1 game of Leigh and know our entire move set and gameplan, and know we do not deviate from it.

I'm not privy to knowing what the players are told to do but, that apart, I can't find anything to fault, in the points you make.
When the fan commented, at the 'Meet the players evening', about our boring, predictable 'style' (I use the word loosely!) he was told that the expansive style didn't/wouldn't win us anything. Our current 'style' didn't win us many games last season, and it hasn't, so far this season. We are still leaking points, despite our defensive set up, and we certainly aren't scoring enough, that's for sure!

Can't disagree with any of that.
To be honest, it's rare we even get to tackle 4!

Unfortunately the coach cannot see the irony of how his safety first approach is actually leading to as many mistakes, if not more as when we expansive bordering on reckless!

Yes its structural play, works for SL,but not Championship,as both friendlies proved we can compete at SL level but forget we are in Championship.

London Skolars would thump us on current form. But can you see my point?

You need everything, SL/CH, it doesn't matter what league you play in, of course you need to have a structure as your baseline, lots of pre-trained moves.. But the fundamental point, which we do not have, is you must have the freedom to throw them all out of window and play what is in front of us. Riddy was bollocked for ignoring the 'gameplan', for making a break and scoring in fact.
You have to remember that we got relegated last season, for whatever you want to say Jukes failed. Once the initial 'unknown' of us wore off we became predictable and very easy to play against. Defend the well, wait for the turn over.
The crux of the problem with Jukes is, not only does he hate anyone ignoring the gameplan, the gameplan could be written on the back of a fag packet.. We have at most 5 set moves, combine those two we are utterly predictable.
Did you see any progression last season? Did you see us trying new things once we started to struggle? We play the exact same way we did game 1 of SL even now. Hes said it himself at the Q + A... Its a coach without ideas.
Doesn't help he has Cunningham throwing in his two penny's worth, and his coaching knowledge is limited to the first 5 yards behind the ruck and nothing else.
