In fairness Sep, as Derek said on the Dockhouse Rugby Show, Leigh rely on devotees giving their own time up to fulfil a whole range of functions for the club free of charge. Were those heroes on the payroll it would lessen DB's pocket money, money spent on, in everyone's opinion, the best team ever to grace the second echelon.

If (IF) everything goes to plan there will be more central funding for Leigh in SL next year and then maybe a few stipendiary social media staff. For now Bongser would rather not go with Newcastle's model - their move to full time now sees them below newly part time London (and, according to the latter's forum, London tell no one neauwt).

Indeed we should but I'd rather us carry on with the task and get back into SL. The increase of a SM presence would then be paid for an employee and not reliant on exceptional volunteers.

At our club we have always had a great set of volunteers who help out and they have been trying to get the word out there
First thing I’d do if we go up though is employ a proper head of media
We need to increase our fan base

I agree its really good to see , we should have something like this . Cover the build up , training, game day highlights and after thoughts , it could even create some good rugby league characters which we haven't had in the public eye since the likes of Offiah . Even a kid in his bedroom can get 3 million subs these day with nothing good to say , this could be a highly profitable and make people aware of rugby .
