| Quote: Nozzy "Our lack of any sort of respect for possession 1st half was infuriating. 2/3 dropped balls on the 1st tackle. Acton running straight into touch in the 1st tackle. Penalty for crossing on the 1st tackle. Plus plenty of other errors/penalties just piled pressure on us and some soft defence left us well behind at the break.
Barlow and Acton were on the wind up as per usual but were no worse than Siejka (x2), Williams swinging at McNally or Walker taking McNally out off the ball during Kay's try.
Heard a few Bradford fans and players saying the rough stuff suited us more than them but the 1st half was the nasty one when they took a healthy lead. 2nd half was much less heated and we ran them ragged and won the half 30 - 4.'"
Acton and Barlow on at the same time during such a big game is always a risk, unfortunately, didn't come off in the first half yesterday. Looked much better in the second half when Emmitt and Wilkes were on, which laid the platform for Moimoi to do some damage when he came on.

Over 50 years of pain, pleasure, frustration, joy, heartache and ecstasy that supporting Leigh has given me but I would not swop it.: |
|
| Holding Moimoi back for virtually a half was a great tactic as he takes some stopping when fresh but when tired he was too much for some of the Bradford pack.He is looking fitter each game,as do the whole team, that was a really tough game yesterday and it was plain to see who was the fittest at the end.

Wait until we are bringing FFMM on in 90 degree heat pitchside! Everyone else will be wilting and he will be fresh as a daisy!

Two of our tries in the second half were directly linked to a great run and delayed wide pass from Barlow. Fui's barnstorming run that led to a try was off one of the passes and I think it was McNally's try on the left that was started by the second. No saint is Barlow, but his passion and skill far outweigh any negatives for me. I also loved when he high fived a speccy in the North stand after one of the tries.
The first half was down to getting caught up in the occasion for me rather than a designed tactic. Second half our boys took a hell of a lot of high shots and late hits, but really stayed focused.
Emmitt and Wilkes were awesome for sure. Emmitt was right up there for me as one of my MOM's.
Fui is going to tear this league apart (and I don't mean to disrespect anyone who plays in it) he just is. This game showed that he is not here to just collect a pay cheque. His runs brought a smile to my face every time, and more than one of the Bradford players changed direction in an attempt to avoid his tackles. Just imagine what we are going to be like with Spencer back and on a mission to prove he's worth a spot.

| We are going to get better as well. That is equally important.
Our completion rate first half was arguably the lowest of the Rowley era. It enabled them to get a foot hold on the half and contributed to their first half lead.

Agreed on both counts HRJ. They will get better as they gel a little more, but they will not out muscle us in the forwards or beat us for speed this season. Keep our heads and respect the ball and I believe we are the better team. I also wonder how effective they would be if their standoff gets injured.
Don't get me wrong, I think they are a good team, I just think we are a little better overall

Great post Fred - absolutely bang on the money.
Thanks yet again for the excellent Centurions TV production of the Bradford game.
I shall be replaying this one a time or three.
Centurions TV is worth the subscription just to listen the Paul Rowley post match interviews - no emotional junk and referee slagging from our coach - just a cool headed analysis of the game.

| Having watched the game on CTV and the rewind facility quite often, I was thinking what it would it have been like watching the video without knowing the result. Throwing things at the TV first half and turning the air blue then dancing round the lawn at the final whistle.
If you aren't a subscriber then you are missing out.

| Agree with that.
I like a lot on here am Leigh daft and have rewatched Sundays game 5 times.
Every time I watch Bradfords first try I cringe at our players who where under our posts who seemed not to be looking in front of them.
Second half always cheers me up.

Spot on. Always said how funny it is that to teams that come to try to bully us with physicality we're dirty thugs, teams that come to play entertaining attacking rugby never seem to have that complaint. How very very odd.
