Being rumoured ( strongly ) on the Fev board that we have signed greg. Always impressed against us but don't know much bout him.

Very good player, strong and decent tackler, but also very, very greedy. Not done much this season and probably been his worst, but can say that about most our players.

Will split opinion among fev fans, there's no doubting he's a good player but could be a whole lot better. Its as good to put the winger over as it to score yourself. For Greg passing is a last resort, only passing when he's realised he wont score himself. More often than not, by then the chance has gone.

When I first heard the rumour at the Sheffield playoff match a few fans sat around us were saying it wasn't a bad thing as our wingers may get a touch of the ball now. others were moaning that he was going.

Personally I would be more gutted if it was Mendeika, but I would still have liked to keep Greg. His major fault is something that can be worked on, its not as if he cant tackle or he's too weak, too slow etc. just needs to change his mentality.

Apparently he's signed a four year contract with you, if true you have yourselves a decent who is still young and will no doubt improve

I have every comfidence rowley and the coaching staff will work on any weaknesses in his game. This is one advantage in being a FT squad.

Reading this he seems a perfect stand in for our very own Tom Armstrong................if he's only nearly as good as Tom then it's a good signing.

Good luck to Greg, he's been miss managed all season, lost a lot of his confidence (like most of the team). He showed tremendous progress under Daryl, Danny & Sean Long. I think, if he has signed for Leigh, then Paul Rowley will get him back on the right path.

Agree, Greg's a top player and I don't think most Fev fans would say he's greedy at all. His first instinct is probably to run rather than pass but he usually backs it up and plays well above his weight in terms of bumping defenders off. He does seem to come in for a lot of stick from the opposition and often seems to be carrying a knock here or there and an off-season to get full fitness might be all he needs. His anticipation in defence has become a real asset too. Charlie, Sam Smeaton has played very well against Leigh in the past (as has Greg!) and was a really solid centre for us, but Sam's injury was a very bad one that took forever to sort out and it remains to be seen whether he can get back to his old form, and you'd definitely want Greg over Sam at this stage, desperately disappointing for us that we are having to let him go.
