Not infatuation - just one of life's little coincidences, that all bar one of our SKY matches, over three years, had been reffed by Hewer.

So you went to Fev in the NRC match ? I beg to differ with anyone who felt that the ref did not cost you the match that night. You Leigh fans continue to amaze me with how nice and tolerant you are of refs. Credit to you. It is probably better viewing things in that way. You would become thoroughly depressed watching Leigh I suppose if you let the refs get you down. Suppose it is water off a duck's back now when the ref stinks. I suppose some people become hardened to it or choose to ignore it. Probably the best way.

Without Refs we dont have a sport , simple as really , yes they occaisionally wind me up , but I have tried it

The shouts of " The refferee's a w***** " from the parents did get to me

As I say, you Leigh fans have a great attitude to referees considering the treatment you get from them. The fact that you say they only wind you up on occasion, further emphasises just how tolerant you are. I genuinely do think the way you seem to view things as Leigh supporters, is for the best. If you did not give them the benefit of the doubt, you would surely go mad watching Leigh. The old cliche that refereeing is hard, is definitely true. As I have said on here many times before, nobody expects them to get everything right. However, the refereeing I have witnessed in a lot of matches involving Leigh, beggars belief. At Fev, in the NRC, most fair minded fans would not have minded if Mr.Child had missed the odd thing etc, but the whole tone of that performance, was unacceptable and I must say that it is far more often than just during the odd game that Leigh are on the wrong end of decisions. If it was very rare, then these things would probably even up, but they never seem to with you lot. However, the attitude most of you share is definitely for the best. You have probably become immune to refs over the years. Just as well really.

We can't bag refs as two of the best young refs in the country are regular posters on here

It was unbelievable and no, he did not get banned. He also was not banned after he was sent off against Haven in your league game last season at home. Thankfully, you were so far in front in that one anyway, it did not cost you the match.

Agreed but we need to stop giving daft penalties away and letting the oposition get easy yards, the majority of penalties conceded this year have been for technical offencies not foul play

FWIW I rate Mr Thomason. Controls the game nicely and always seems fair. Of course he makes mistakes but there are far worse refs than him around.

Reffed us in Toulouse & we won the penalty count, away, for the only time so far this season. Just as well, given the score! He seemed very efficient, without the dramatics of others!

Always earns brownie points for buying ale on RFL expenses in the Melting Pot after the game
