No actually he did. Even when Rowley was in charge, Kay's attitude was appalling at times and for which he had to apologise for more than once.

At the time he was at the top of his game and outplayed GB Scrum Half Dereyk Fox at Fev
Unfortunately injuries and a serious family illness cut short his stay and he drifted out of the game.

| Well Jimmy Ledgard was an outstanding player and Goalkicker and a fine man too! He played for over ten years for Leigh and was a full International and GB vice Captain( he was a pretty good Joiner too) 
I too liked Geoff Clarkson. There aren't too many good things to come out of Yorkshire however, these two defied that trend
The approach Road to Leigh East is also named after Ledgard and, considering its almost Sixty years since he finished playing for Leigh, that's some testament to Jimmys memory  |
