| Can't see S/L splitting into two divisions any time soon.
What will be fascinating to me, is the growing clamour from 'certain' S/L teams to reduce S/L down to ten teams, or nine plus Toulouse, depending on whose view you read.
Let's say this one went to the vote amongst S/L teams, (i.e. to reduce from fourteen to ten.) I wonder which way the following teams would vote?
London; Wakefield; Castleford; Salford; Widnes; Hull KR; Bradford.
In their current positions/set ups, they wouldn't/couldn't all be part of the 'ten'. (except London perhaps, as we "need" a team in the capital)

| Let me get this right.
It's OK for Leigh to use Miners etc as feeder clubs, but not OK for SL clubs to use Leigh?
Dual standards....

| For a kick off, even if P&R were brought in today I think with a 14 team Super League Fev, Fax, Leigh etc would compete with Widnes and London.
At least if P&R were brought in, the best Championship Club would go up, rather than the 5th best, then people blame the coach when Widnes get battered every week, they were getting battered in our league, so why would they do any better in Super League?
If you look at the teams that have been promoted like Cas and Hull KR they're progressing.
Reduce SL to 12 teams, 5 team playoff.
P&R with Championship, top 4 playoff.
Stagger the seasons, so that when the Championship GF winner is decided, they get a payout, part of their SL Salary, this was they get the first 'pick' of SL out of contract players, rather than when Leigh went up, and all the players had signed for SL clubs already.
All SL has to do to stop clubs crashing is bring in a contract clause where if a player plays for a team that is relegated they are released from their contract.

| I have to say staggering the starts of the leagues may not be a bad idea. The championship clubs may even pick up some SL fans desperate for an early RL fix.

Point 1: They wouldn't. As much as I enjoyed a few of the results in the cup as one off games, if you put London's team in the Chp, genuinely they'd win by 60 every week. Players like Michael Robertson against players like Steve Maden would be humiliating.
Point 2: I see the logic, however as soon as Widnes ticked that box, rules are rules and it would always be them, had to be with their set up. This time it will probably be Fev.
Point 3: HKR are on the basis of having wealth behind them, the debts they've run up are humongous and they've been to court claiming dispensation after dispensation to bend the rules to stay up and cover their short falls. HKR on the outside look a success but they're a house of cards (ala Bradford) hence why their chairman is making all this noise because he knows. Cas were saved by Franchising! How can you hold them up as a success of P/R they promoted a load of young kids because they couldnt be relegated, they finished bottom and by your logic should have been in the Chp.
Points 4,5 et al: It's difficult. Because however you do it players with families and commitments don't want to put down their lives on the chance they may not be employed 12 months later. It's precisely why you got journeymen aussies, no commitments, if it went tits up they just got on a plane or signed for the next promoted club.

They don't want a drop in SKY money (IMO the money should be split equally between all 3 divisions) even though they get more through sponsorship and marketing. Its the old saying - the rich get richer and sod the rest.'"
I believe the Sky money should be better split but lets play devils advocate.
Why on earth should teams like you get our Sky money when Sky don't want you to have it. If they wanted you to have it then they'd have give you the money to be televised in the cup.. people are harping on about two divisions but wheres the money coming from. Sky dont. want. to. pay. for. it. It really isn't that difficult.

| Quote: Dico "Point 1
Point 1 part A: They would. Widnes havn't beaten Leigh for years and we're not the best team in the Championship, and where are Widnes-level with London. Just because they've got a good winger doesn't mean they're a better team.
Point 1 part B: Widnes play Magraff Leuluai, point proven.
Point 2: Why did it have to be Widnes and this time it will be Fev? Why put an average team in because it has a nice stadium over a team that's better, but doesn't. What's changed this time to make Fev more viable? The stadiums the same, but they're not as good a side.
Point 3: Just because Hull KR spent beyond their means doesn't mean everyone else will. Cas finished bottom, unlucky, if they're good enough they will come back the year after.
Points 4&5: I'm not going to feel sorry for an Aussie player who's come over for a payday, then when his team gets relegated because he's on holiday he's out of a job. If the player plays well and gets relegated, they get signed by someone else, possibly the promoted club. If they're garbage and no one wants them, hard lines, they've failed and they know where the airport is.

| Are people still rising to the bait of this fool? cant you all see he just does it for a wind up? he's a superleague fan he wouldn't know a rugby league game if it kicked him up the 'arris', he's just another blowhard who thinks rugby league is under 20 years old as a sport.

I disagree actually, I think Dico just has a different opinion.

| Me too.
His arguments/point of view are his and he is entitled to them.
When we all start thinking the same way we might as well all move to Pyongmanyong' I hear it is great living there.

It was a month ago. It was a one off game as I stated. You couldn't do it week in week out, you haven't the squad. A one off game is 17 blokes v 17 blokes, but playing to that intensity every week is where you'd fall down, very quickly.

But with full time training that comes I think. Like I stated with a staggered season, if the Championship finished a month or two before SL, the promoted team could have 5 or 6 seasoned pros signed up and a squad assembled.
Think this extra prep time would go a long way.
