| Toulouse 28-22 Woolpack
Barrow 28 -14 Swinton
Dewsbury 16 - 22 Halifax
Leigh 25 - London 20
Rochdale 12 - 28 Featherstone
Sheffield 12 - 34Batley
Top 4 - Yes (I can dream )
Sorry I was giving a UK Yorkshire nephew a taste of West Coast Vancouver wilderness on his visit here, so missed Friday’s round. He’s now gone back to Leeds (yes my brother defected many years ago !) with a great appreciation for Canada and a sound piece of advise to emigrate back to at least Leyth (if not here).

Thanks, Charlie but if this is a wind-up, Bongser hopes that you read the penalty clause?
Running with that, should have the present standings out this evening.

No wind up, I didn't see any sin bins or red cards.

| Well Friday’s preds were a bit of a Bertie Bassett. Amongst the matches there were three clean sweeps on the victors (Leigh, Batley & Halifax) and very nearly three total wipe outs in the others. These bus crashes were saved by, firstly, (league leader) Atomic predicting a loss for London, by Cokey predicting a win for the Trannies (in case anyone hasn’t heard and before the lawyers get involved, they are the first TRANSatlantic Rugby blah blah) and by both Charlie & Wanderer opting for a win for the Hornets.
Correct margins were a rarity. Atomic (again) got one in the Batley vs Dewsbury tie and both Wanderer (again) and Bongser in Leigh’s match.
Until the last round when Atomic broke the mould, we’d had no bang-on scores but it seems they’re like buses, you wait forever then yadda yadda....
Bongser got the Leigh score plumb. Like the last game, the last score of the match came a long time before the hooter. Bongser wonders if Atomic was also momentarily torn between the usual “score more Leythe” and slight yearning for the hooter. Bongser made himself think about the possibility of point difference making the difference between top four or a slide into obscurity come the end of the season and opted to shun the dark side. Sadly that put the kibosh on any further additions.
Four of the posters opted for “none” on the bonus question and received 15 pts.
Yours truly is therefore the WW (+25) but that leaves last week’s League Leader, Atomic, still in charge and (acknowledge the crowd) now a double centurion!!
Three maiden centurions in Cokey, Jack Diggle and, eventually, Westleighjim who Syd Rumpo here had down as still blocking and awaiting the right ball as he remained in the nervous nineties (99) until, during a comfort break from Syd’s ramblings and with brain in hand, he realised that he had forgotten to factor in the one point attendance bonus. So three more raises of the bat.
Tonight’s standings then:
1) Atomic – 210
2) Bongser – 197
3) Charlie – 169
Will this continue in alphabetical order? Err, nope!
4) Wanderer – 149
5) Publican – 147
6) Cokey – 117
7) Zulu – 115
Vancouver – 110
9) Jack – 103
10) WLJ – 100
11) LeytherX111 – 94
12) SaBadSel – 16
Vancouver has rejoined us for Monday’s game. His bonus, extrapolated from his Monday preds being applied to tonight’s Championship Table, sees him join the “Leigh in Sixth” club. He cannot now though have a winning bonus trebled.
Let us all hope that Atomic, Publican & Zulu get the bonus tomorrow night. Go Leythe!

| Comfy win in the end and the most important under KP.
However performances on this thread were a bit under par. Ten in attendance from which there were no exact scores, no Pokemons, no correct margins and only westleighjim (take a bow – you deserve more) getting four correct winners. All the other posters got three (bar Wanderer who was only saved from jacking by the Fev result) and so the bonus became all important.
Glad to see Leigh in their highest position this season (5th) but with the Dewsbury vs ‘Fax match being called off, the bonus this week was kinda won by default. As all the correct posters (Atomic, Publican & Zulu, entered before the Swinton game they get a 15 point bonus apiece and furthermore each receives a joint Weekly Winner boost of 25.
Least said about this round the better so, third round on top, it’s Atomic.
1.) Atomic – 257
2.) Bongser – 204
3.) Publican – 194
4.) Charlie – 176
5.) Zulu – 162
6.) Wanderer – 152
7.) Cokey – 124
8.) Vancouver – 116
9.) Jack Diggle– 110
10.) WLJ -109
11.) LX111 – 94
12.) SaBadSel – 16
Controversial and ultimately weather thwarted bonus question this week. Bongser was thinking of appeasing Cokey by setting the below one for the next round (with a 20 point demerit for any poster that mentions squirrels), he again lays the floor open to the brethren. First reasonable and measurable (though hopefully creative) suggestion will be adopted and next week’s puntables will be posted.
Nice to see most are still beLEIGHving in top four

| Okay, no takers for this weekend’s bonus ball so you will have to decipher one of Bongser’s. He will however try to make it as CLEAR as possible.
First to this round’s matches:
Please note the first match is on Saturday so, for full participation, preds in by 1pm on that day (tip: Auntie always shows LOCAL time).
Saturday:
Toulouse XX-XX Barrow
Sunday:
Batley XX-XX Trannies
Featherstone XX-XX Dewsbury
Halifax XX-XX London
Leigh XX-XX Rochdale
Swinton XX-XX Sheffield
So on to Bongser’s Bonkers Bonus Bonanza and we’re back to shirt numbers. What’s more we’re at the LSV for the Rochdale game. They were heavily nilled by Fev this weekend but, by many accounts, robbed against Trannies the week before.
Here goes: (10 points for bob on, 5 points for within 5, and 3 points for within 10).
a) What will be the sum of the shirt numbers of the first Leigh scorer (try, penalty or DG) and the last Leigh scorer (try, conversion, penalty or drop). That’s two shirt numbers added together. Should you think that Leigh will score no points, please post: “a) zero” or equivalent and forever hang your head in shame. Should you think that, say, Craig Hall will score the only points for Leigh (therefore first and last), your answer should be “a) two” (1+1, geddit). Were Mickey to score the first points and Craig the last (30+1), the plumb post would be: “a) 31”. Not interested in the interim scorers for the sake of this game.
b) Now (with the same scoring system) do likewise for the Rochdale scorers.
c) Will appear in the next post and, if you have understood the bonus question so far you may read on and know that you need do nothing. If, however, Bongser’s questions confuse you please simply skip through to the first posted answers.

| Okay, viewers of a sensitive nature should look away now as this post may contain flash photography, hard core pornography and scenes of extreme violence........or none of the above.
So we get back to section C (C section?).
What punters may have lost on the swings, they may have gained on the roundabouts so, BONGSER WILL TOTAL your answers from sections A and B of the bonus and if that total matches actuality you will score (same margins and points as in the above post).
G’dangit, Cokey! You read on anyway, didn’t you. S’pose it was like putting a big, red, shiny button emblazoned with the words “DO NOT PRESS” before you. Do you have a pal called A Middleton?
Please may Bongser iterate that for Section C you need do NOTHING, NADA, RIEN, ZILCH, NULLA, JACK $H1T, NIHIL, BAHT, NICHTS, DIDDLY-SQUAT, NEAUWT, ZERO, NUL POINTS, NORVEIGE, SWEET FANNY ADAMS, SIT ON YOUR HANDS, NIL, NAVEL GAZE, TWIDDLE YA THUMBS, BE THE RFL and (just for Zulu01) HAKUNA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Luck!
.....and breathe.
