| Quote: Dick Jones "Thank you Alan Im slowly losing to will to go on and Im very serious about this
.
BTW Did anyone hear Phil Coffey say that he used to be chairman of LISA and he became a Director and was still chairman of LISA and it did LISA no harm whatsoever.
I dont think they actually are asking us to become an active director.
AS Alan says provide the fans with the transparency some seem to think we should have. AS for the LISA meetings the LISA director would have to sign a disclaimer to say that certain info was confidentual and the members would have to accept that only certain info their director would be able to disclose.'"
My memory aint what it used to be, but I think Phil originally attended Board Meetings as a represenative of LISA. (ironically) However, I believe there were occasions when he had to get out of the meetings when 'sensitive' issues were discussed. I assume that would still apply?
Personally, I believe that the Board are making this offer - (a) in recognition of LISA's enormous financial contribution, over the years and (b) in an effort to provide more transparency to the fans, through LISA. Let's not get hung up over the technical ramifications of this, when there probably aren't any. At the end of the day, for me it's a matter of whether the supporters believe there should be even more transparency to the Club's dealings. Personally, I don't think we need more transparency, but others may well disagree.

| Having a member at board meetings isn't new and I thought it still happened Having done it I can confirm that sensitive issues were rightfully discussed in my absence and that I hadn't a clue what the financial reality was.
This should be about recognising LISA's ongoing contributions by issuing a share upon receipt of the first £20k, that share guarantees things and promotes the concepts of partnership, transparency and unity going forward.
Being a shareholder doesn't compromise independence, and will start to unite the latent fan base behind a transparent future.
What has the club got to lose?

I still want to know why having a LISA member on the board helps and yet here we are having a discussion about wasting LISA money just so folk will eventually realise that.
OK this is my opinion and therefore someone come forward' with a good reason as to why I should change my view.'"
Frank, long time no speak, i am still a lisa member but find it very hard to get to Leigh after work of a night or for the last couple of years even get to a game. I am though still a fan and want the best for our club. The offer from the BOD seems a good one and an important one, i have read and respect your views regarding the expense of a postal vote and your correct in my opinion that the expense of a postal vote is one LISA could do without. However LISA has a duty to it's members to notify them of any significant decisions that the association needs to make. You and i don't know if we have a LISA member who has very good marketing or advertising contacts and could bring that experience to the board room and i think a postal vote would also clarify what is involved with being a LISA rep on the board. You think it is a bad idea and i won't try and make you change your mind , all i can do is tell you why i think it is necessary.

| Here's my two'pennorth worth. I don't ever remember a time when things were so transparent and I'm not sure why everyone is so hung up about it.
When was the last time anyone could attend a Fans Forum and get every single question answered? When was the last time anyone could join one of the many PSG's and get involved with the club should they wish to? When was the last time anyone could email the Chief Exec about a query and get a reply?
I don't think we've ever had this level of openness and I'd like to bet there's no other club being run as efficiently as ours at this moment in time.

| Quote: Starbug "Wether LISA has a shareholding or not, what is more important is access to the financial situation at the club at any given time and that best use of LISA donations is being made,
In recent years LISA has had 2 functions, 1 raising of money to help with signing and paying of players , 2 a communication channel between the club and its supporters
With the current administration and the openness of the fans forums, the communication aspect is now less relevant, hopefully the FF s will continue, albeit with less frequency meaning the club is on a more stable footing
Therefore LISA s main concern will be to continue to find new ways of raising money, continuing the current endevoures and attempting to increase membership
Even though we all support the club and may well be members of LISA, everyone one of us will have different ideas on how the club should operate, I myself have beliefs that the club isn't ready for SL and should not apply until it is, how would that opinion fit in with other LISA members if say I was to be the appointed ' LISA ' director?
Similarily if it is an ' ideas ' person, why would they need LISA affiliation? , if you have an idea that you think can benifit the club, it has been thought through, and you can implement it or help the club implement it, contact the BOD or Trevor direct, there is no need to be associated to LISA for that
It is an independant body, with the rights to give or withold money to the club as it sees fit , it should remain that way IMO
If Sporting Club Leigh wished to give the LISA organisation an honorary shareholding in recognisition of its contribution to the club over many years, that would be fine, and perhaps a good idea'"

One of the problems is,if coffee and freer make a decision and the LISA rep reluctantly goes along with it, then IMO LISAs independence has been compromised and that will do damage to both the club and LISA

history tells us this happens everytime we have hit the abyss, then it disappears over time. A shareholding changes that. What has the club got to lose by selling a share to LISA for the first £20k they put in this year??

| Well supposing the representative was just there as an observer who didn't have any say in making decisions? That way they couldn't be compromised because they haven't had any say but will still be there 'overseeing'.
That seems like the best option to me anyway.
