| Seems like a positive statement and shows that things are going on behind the scenes to make sure we have a club and team to take the field next season.
Its important people dont just start talking about coaches and players and the new season the hard work starts here and we need to be realistic in what the imeadiate future will hold with the likely budget that will be available.

| Just skipped through a few pages.
If LISA have the money in the bank then they should pay HMRC direct and not give the money to the club. In this way the club cannot be acused of treating one creditor differently from the rest. Lisa could pay some debt and agree a payment schedule for the rest at say £1k a month until the arrears are paid off. The club must of course then keep HMRC payments up to date in the future or this would be for nothing.
I also think the people on the Board at 1 September 2011 should each put in £3000 towards the tax bill as a show of faith to the club.

| The LISA constitution would need to be changed which would take an emergency general meeting and a postal vote all which would take too long if your a LISA member then why not propose a change in the constitution?,
HMRC have already turned one proposal down from the club so why should they accept a lesser one than the one offered by the club? there are only 2 remaining board members so that's £6K which would hardly be a dent in what's owed and why would any retiring director wish to part with £3K?,
all of which is academic as the RFL are negotiating now with HMCR and will pay them with our 2012 payment to the club.

| Lisa wasnt and isnt set up the pay the Inland Revenue.
Let the Club/RFL sort that out as agreed..... the LISA money will be needed to get players contracts sorted out once its all resolved.

Isn't part of the Inland Revenue payment part of the players wages? (PAYE / NI) ???
I also think that there might be a few more people to pay (creditors) before we can look forward to next year.

| As i said elsewhere when the club says nothing for a few days, it all becomes doom and gloom. Sometimes theres more on here that seem to secretly want us to die than don't

| I assume that was a dig at my post. I want the club to survive as much as anyone. I can't believe that LISA have money in the bank which hasn't gone to the club in it's time of need.

| The only way to change that is for LISA members to vote on it in an Extraordinary General Meeting

| But would that count in a vote? (I really don't know ) or did you mean to organise/warn of a meeting?

| Sorry, my post wasn't a dig. I was puzzled at why this thread had been started up again when everything had been explained by Keith last week. Only the directors know the agreement that has been made with the RFL but it was explained that basically the worry of the HMRC had been removed from the here and now. I also offered to make all those phone calls that may be needed to get a decision from LISA members. I also understand that the club didn't want to take the money now but use it for next season especially as a deal had been sorted out to allow us to go on.
If the LISA can be used to help fund the contracts of 2,3 or even more players, then I think the right decision has been made all round, what we now need to try and do is raise as much as possible to soften the blow of being without £90,000 next season.

This is exactly right Derick.

| Out of interest, and apologies if this has already been covered, if the players still haven't been paid, are the LISA sponsored players still receiving their payments?
