Should be a good game next week if Fev can play like they did in the first half. And by the way, there is no way there was only 1700 there. It looked like one of the bigger crowds of the season, certainly no less than 2500.

No pressure on us next week - we havent swept all before us this year nor are we probably expected to win
That said, if we come up with a game plan like tonight which stopped all their main players from playing their game (yere, briggs, QLT et al may have just sat on the bus the use they were today) then we have a chance

Top two supported team in the league..... should be a decent atmos...
As has been said so many times this last week, our primary objective has been achieved. All this malarky is a bonus.
Given the lunacy of John Bastian's appointment last year and the turmoil he create, the effect of Feisal Nahaboo and Poskitt and the uncertainty of intertnal politics created within the the club and the subsequent fiscal impact. Add to the a crippling injury list which has included no fewer the 5 ACL season ending injuries plus many other players no longer available leaving us playing Sheffield with our last 17 fit players.... what we have achieved this yr has been nowt short of miraculous considering. 2nd... big money and now in the final for a knees up.
Those who know me will know I'M 'NOT GETTING MY EXCUSES IN EARLY'! We've already over achieved this year and losing next sunday won't have the same impact as losing in previous yrs. That said.......  |

Certainly the best possible final, for an atmosphere and, it has to be said, the best two teams in the league. Featherstone may be 'underdogs' this time, but all Leythers know, from bitter experience, what Fev can do - especially in a one-off game.
Like you say, we've both achieved the objective for the season (£££££££££) so let's enjoy the day.

I can't wait for next week now, just looking for a great day out even with the likely loss that we will have to injure.

Nah.... we win... we lose.... excuses mean nowt!
Guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm over the moom with how our season has panned out given the sheeeite the club has endured this term; and notwithstanding that the result on Sunday whilst not irrelevant, is not what it has been in previous years. A loss won't affect me like it did in 2012 and certainly not 2010. That's just how it is...
I know it's a hypothetical situation but I would guess most leythers, if given a choice would take the league win over a GF win this year if it was a one or the other.

I would say that ALL Leythers would have rather won the league over the GF this year given the financial implications RFF.
Grand Final for show, League Leaders for Dough. And with the new format next year the money was always going to take priority. |
