| Let's be honest if Derek or anybody else in the old regime wished to be involved at the club, with the possible exception of a certain ex-director who was nearly lynched at the fans forum, i'm sure Keith & Trevor would welcome their contributions. Derek continues to support the club in a number of ways, however this thread seems to be missing the point that maybe he doesn't want/have the time to commit himself to a role which could very quickly become time consuming & impact on his business.
As an aside the club surely needs to source some new blood to take on the kind of role previously carried out by the likes of Derek instead of keep looking back at the usual suspects. The concept of the PSG introduced by Trevor is a good one provided there are enough people involved in it who have the capability to take the club forward as opposed to just having the time or nothing better to do with their time. This isn't a dig at anybody involved currently as part of the PSG as their involvement is i'm sure for all the right reasons.

| I agree, but the obvious sticking point is money. I was also quite pleasantly surprised at how many are involved in the psg. It shows that the interest is still strong out there. Good luck to them.

| I don't think money is the main thing in being a director, if you can bring to the table some other skills which can generate income or save money or even just having a good business 'brain' then surely that is the idea of a community club which IMO should be self financing anyway instead of just owing money in directors loans, which in this day and age just puts business people off anyway.

| Agree 100% Fred but it would be frustrating being an Ideas man with no money getting your ideas in practice! Thats why Tin Pot Millionaires always get onto the board.

| Enough people involved with business acumen allowed to do what needs to be done & the club will flourish - this is already starting to happen and the ticket prices reflect a realistic take on something which has to be self sufficient or it will die.
Money will always be an issue in a club such as Leigh and has been for many years - as a club in crisis over the last few months the ability to pull together and make things happen has been a fantastic achievement and the fact we have the squad we have assembled is frankly incredible. Momentum cannot be lost and as many people as possible need to do whatever they can, supporting the club in any way they can.

| Well I congratulate all the directors who have put money into our club.
What astonishes me when talking to folk who have stopped going is that they invariably have a go at one or other saying that they are or were ripping the club off.

Here here, sniping, arguing, childish behaviour should all be thrown out we all (I think) support the club and are fans (look those words up if in doubt) in our own way, trying to make useless political capital out of other people and circumstances are troublesome and can be harmful in it's own way and only cause damage be it however so slight.

| I dont recall AR being at the club when Emirates came on board, I also recall someone at the time telling me they approached us. I also believe if AR was at the club then DA wouldn't have been coach
If we had 20 Dereks we would be in a good place now, the past is the past and I am sure he learned a lot in a few years - he certainly learned how it could negatively affect a small business.
I am sure when Derek is able to donate his time fully he will be back, that aint going to be now but with the commercial success he is enjoying who knows whats round the corner.
Directors loans are the noose of many clubs but converting loans to shares and having the ability to buy shares in affordable lumps, say £100, is a recipe for success and the direction I would encourage the club to take.

| I am 90 % sure it was Mike Callaghan that brought in the Emirates deal for SL, unfortunatly we had already sorted a main shirt deal, and they declined to support us the following year, although there is in existence somewhere a Leigh Centurions 2006 home shirt with Emirates on it, I have seen it
