I wondered if these directors might grow some teeth if and when one of the Super Leagues got kicked out for Widnes? I met a couple of Castleford fans who were worried they may get kicked out and were not happy.Their money man is geting older now as well and if he goes things could look bad for them.
Surely the kicked out club might just start a battle and try to get us on their side,I can`t see Wakefield wanting to come off the gravy train either ,parachute payment or not.

As harsh as it may seem, I don't think there should be a parachute payment. Every SL club should have clauses in player/backroom staff contracts that cover the event of loss of licence. More fool them if they haven't. If they don't like it why vote for it in the first place....oh yes a guaranteed 3 million quid. Also voting at the RFL is now a joke as SL teams votes count double, so if all SL clubs vote for something its pointless the Championship clubs voting at all.

Its not easy trying to control that monster of greed and must have success at any price - the football authorities certainly have failed there. Ask Portsmouth fans - who checks new owners out?

Well I am convinced that will happen because the relegated clubs income will drop alarmingly as will their attendances when they lose their franchise and their fan base realises they are going nowhere for at least 4 seasons. This is something I warned about when this ridiculous franchise system was introduced.

RL seems to be me to be run by people who have big ideas but seem to be incapable of realising the consequences of their decisions. It is similar to performance related bonuses given to mortgage brokers in banks. Short sighted managers at banks want to see their buisness booming so they tell their brokers for every mortgage you sell you get a bonus.Well we know what happened to our banks.

We also know what has happened to the Governor of the Bank of England who oversaw this catastrophe. He is still in his job as will the guy who is running the RFL will be when it all goes wotsits up and I would guess neither of them know the LSV exists even though one has actually been there.

Professional RL in the North of England has 3 clubs making a profit.None in London none in France and certainly not one in Wales.
