I wasn't a fan of his either, last season - but he was definitely carrying an injury from one of the pre-season games. This year he appears fitter and sharper, and has been outstanding, in my opinion. I understand that he also works well with the Community Dept. & the schools - along with Duffy.

Adam Bristow anyone??? He got slated in his first season and then turned out to be one of our most influential players. Hope we'll be saying the same about Dave soon.

I thought he was very poor last season and said so. I am pleased to say this season we have a different player. Good.

who did you guys rate last year?
Armo was playing in a team poor in form most of last year not 100% fit but one thing is for sure he will give 100% in each game he plays. however he aint a loose forward imo.

Watson another player i did,nt rate when we first signed him but last year he was outstanding
in a very poor team wish we could have kept him for another season he would have excelled
in this team with Robbie Paul Hartley n Duffy..

all i will say is a told you so i argued with you all lasty year about how good this lad is he wasnt fit and carrying the team and was still the 2nd best forward last year (After Chris Hill) with clever players round him backing up looking for hes offloads and reading hes angles he is awesome end of

I must say ,i have been critical of Disco Dave , but i do think he has improved his game since Basil arrived, which must be good, i think a few players have upped their games in the last few weeks notably Robbie , Donlan, and Jock.

Not fit enough to lace Duffy's boots in my opinion and looked absolutely ordinary when he came on on Sunday - look at the difference in the last 20 mins of the Barrow game when Duffy replaced him - major reason why we went on to draw that game (which we wouldn't have done last year).

Came on? wasn't he a starter on Sunday?

Personally I think he will make a real stand out prop for us this year. Not got the pace for second row but when he's played down the middle this year he's been oustanding.

Have to say though Fred, when he 1st signed I was under the impression he was LF. From day one though he never fitted that role.
Think he could do a good job in the second row TBH with his workrate, drive and offloading skills.
