Wouldn't quite go that far, though 'Fax brought in the region of 4-500 but point taken about t'other two. I think this season's average will provide the most realistic figure in years in terms of home support though.

| Quote: Leyther_Matt "Completely agree, but it's not too long since it was almost the norm to have 3,500+ on - where have those people gone and what can we do to get them back?'"
They have gone because the club has been allowed to fall from almost SL quality to the level of Swinton/Rochdale/Blackpool etc. what do you expect. It annoys me when people say "If our crowds where better we could afford better players" - well, as Matt states above, we have had better crowds but the club did not do their bit.
To get them back - for starters:-
1) tickets available from town centre shop/kiosk + maybe an ASDA kiosk.
If i didn't have to pay in my lottery money it would be an inconvenience to visit LSV to buy tickets and I would most likely have to queue on the day. I could imagine regular queueing would then become a pain in the ar$e.
2) cash turnstyle (Heard of several people saying that they would not buy in advance in case something cropped up on the Sunday - OK probably another excuse for not going but let's not give anyone any excuses.
So many people on here have very good ideas - wouldn't be a bad thing if some sort of group where formed to work with the club to get these ideas working. The club has under-performed in this area for a while. Just because you can afford to be a director doesn't mean that you know what is required. I'm sure that many clever, but not rich, Leythers would be only too willing to share ideas for free if it would benefit the club.

But its in the interest of both parties, and possibly even the entire town to get as many as possible into LSV.
We need to bang a few heads together, stop blaming one another, get off our collective s, start working together and make a few things happen for a change.
Why can't pubs, shops sell tickets on LSV/Leighs behalf, they sell Munster tickets in the pubs/shops of Limerick?
Why can't ASDA sell merchandise? they sell wire stuff at Birchwood.
My guess is because its someone else's job to organise it.
As Leigh24.7 says what we need is some kind of working party which includes representatives for all interested parties.

| Let me say this.
If nearly everyone on here is demanding for the club to change. Myself included. Then why can't we as fans change aswell?
Will someone please give me a credible reason why you cant que up to buy a ticket on the day of the game to gain entry?
Why is it so important to pay cash on the door?
I think not going to a game because you cant pay on the door is absolute rubbish and a lame excuse.
You are asking for the club to make major changes but you refuse to even do such a simple thing as this.
Amazing.

If a small percentage did that then there would not be a problem. If, as at the Barrow game, a few hundred away fans also need to buy tickets then it appears that long delays will occur.

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |

| So why don't the LSV send tickets for away fans to away clubs so they already have them and don't have to queue up on the day.
Its time people moved with the times. We are not the only club who don't have pay gates at the stadiums are we. The way people moan you would think so. I turn up at 1.30 and head for easts with my ticket in hand after not queuing at all.

I think they do send away teams tickets, it's just that like our fans not all can make it to their respective clubs to get them in advance.
Would you not find it easier if you could go straight to Leigh East, and get your pint and your ticket together? Why restrict ourselves to only one ticketing outlet?

| That would mean either writing of a certain number of tickets for an area or areas of the ground to those tickets or installing computer terminals that are linked to LSV ticket office. Correct me if I'm wrong but the first option could provide security problems. On the flip side at the moment we dont fill any stand to capacity and there is no reserved seating so really only fan segregation is the problem there.

| Print some in advance, give East/Miners/Ellesmere/Our House 100 tickets to sell for the North and West. Even if all four outlets sold them all, neither section have come within 400 of its capacity, and are unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future. The ticket office at LSV knows they can’t sell the last 400 for those sections. Do the same with a couple of shop’s but only allow sales up to 24 hrs prior to the game then those sales can be accounted for. Send Andy round on Monday to collect unused tickets, the money and tickets for the next game.
Review the situation and increase/reduce the number of tickets available as required.

What, free coaches and wife beater at £2.50 a pint. Gateshead will be well happy they don't have to play us next year
Apathy is a good reason people don't go. I'm a walker, must get asked five or six times on the way home "who won?" As well as that you get the "I'm not paying that much to watch First division!" brigade. A mate of mine goes regular now, just a case of getting them in the ground in the first place. Hoe, I have no idea but, if we get the armchair supporters off their lard, we'd have more fans than capacity.
