It is not quite the same, a truer comparison would be a Bolton or Wigan fan having to decide who to support in a United/City final. I will be backing Wigan for the simple reason that I think they will win.

Not really, especially as Bolton have a rivalry with both of those clubs. We have no rivalry whatsoever with Hull, and in fact have a mutual dislike of Hull KR, which makes it a no brainer to me.

Frank - When I see an official statement that we are no longer merged with Wiggin, I will set foot in the WSV again. I haven't seen any official statement saying that this merger is ending at the end of this season or any season.

Good luck to Tom Spencer, but I tell you what, if Wiggin win the CC on Saturday he will be jumping up with joy with his fellow Wiggin team-mates and hoping he breaks into the Wiggin team (NOT LEIGH) and good luck to the lad. I have never ever liked the DC system and to merge with Wiggin was the last straw for me as it has been with lots of other stairways.

When the Leigh players weren't sure if they were getting paid or not, they got stuffed at home by Sheff and tonked away at Fax. Their hearts weren't in the game for their own reasons, but I and others paid good money to watch a game that the players weren't interested in winning. Why can't people accept that stairway fans' hearts aren't in the game anymore when a once proud independent Leigh RLFC club merges with Wiggin?

I don't want us to have anything to do with Wiggin and when I read comments on this MB of so-called Leigh supporters, cheering for Wiggin in the CC Final, I want to puke - all over them. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Henry , as you well know , Charlie is a 100% Leyther they don't come any more Leyther than me ,but its still Wigan for the Cup , I have never liked Hull , and Charlie Knows who is going to win tomorrow ,Wigan , again is the Club missing WYSIWYG ? NO .

I'm in the same club as Charlie. Hull can go and jump of that big bridge for me.

As I've said, I much prefer a team from this side of the Pennines, to be successful, against one from the other. I'm a Leyther first, but a Lancastrian through and through. I'd feel just the same about Warrington, Saints, Widnes, or whoever from this side of the hills.

And that doesn't make me a Wigginer, plastic or otherwise.

I was in the 'second favourite team was whoever wigan played' bracket but that has become more selective in recent years
We have a lot to learn from them at present and believe they as well as we look forward to the day we have competitive derbies in the fixture list again

Ive never felt any aninmosity towards my Wigan friends , I know they would help us in way they can and would much prefer seeing us in SL , than a few already there , however we have no divine right to be in SL , and wouldn't want it any other way , to get there though , we as Leigh fans must start to support the Club and BOM , Financially and with our feet , unlike the stayaways who criticise at every opportunity , they have no value whatsoever to the Club , Charlie knows who most true Leigh fans are , you see them at Matches and get to know them .

I met a Leigh Fan last night for the first time , a friend of the Captain and I thought he spoke well and had a good knowledge of the game and Leighs performance .
