If the LSV have said we can't play Sunday because there's a small function on then it's the LSV. We've done it before and we can do it again.

If the reason is that the LSV have chosen to allow Swinton to play on the Sunday rather than us, then just say so.

If the reason is that the club don't want to play when there's a function on because they won't be able to use the big room, thus losing valuable revenue on corporate tickets, then why not just say so? It's a perfectly valid reason.

I'm just not sure who's pulling who's strings that's all.

Nobody has officially made any comment other than Fevs CEO as far as I'm aware and certainly not Leigh Centurions or LSV.

Your making statements without knowing the facts, I will gladly enlighten you as a trusted former colleague on the communications team but not on a public forum.

I can put your mind at rest nobody is pulling anyones strings, people are working together on matters to make things work for all parties in a sensible business like manner.

We will make our official statements when the time is right and via the correct professional channels.

Im honestly am perplexed by this thread and the compete over reaction to a potential one off possible change of day from a Sunday to a Friday night which is still neither denied or confirmed officially by any of the parties concerned.

Suppose it shows how well we must be doing as a club if this is one of the major bones of contention

If he player s and coach want Friday night and or the directors do to because theysell more corporate and don't mind having a reduced gate then so be it , screw Fev it's our home tie our decision .
I don't think it would give us any advantage although I can't see why Fev are making such a fuss , we've had to go there enough times for an evening game. .........
It s not the idea of the club wanting Friday, what people can't except is The LSV putting a function on in the middle of the season when a challenge cup round is on the fixtures list, it's not very good of them is it, saying the club one of its partners that's all - no ones having a go at the club here.........
Although I'm looking forward to the tie no matter what day we play it on !

I too am surprised at the number of people who have read and contributed to this thread. Maybe the reason is that the day we play our home games is a highly sensitive issue among our supporters? Unfortunately, the club/LSV is never going to be able to please everyone on this issue.

I'm sure the club will make an announcement about the date of the fixture, and the rationale behind that date, when it has been agreed with Featherstone, Swinton, Keighley, the RFL and LSV - all of whom are 'interested' parties.

Meanwhile, if just half of the 7,700 plus who have so far read this thread, were to turn up at our home games.......

Lets put this thread to bed our preferred day is Sunday, we are allegedly senior partner, play Sunday. If there is a function that gets in the way move it because it shouldn't have been booked in the first place.


You can close the thread now and open another when there is an announcement of an announcement.

Have to admit I assumed that was the case, you would have freedom to arrange it at a time to suit you as long as it was over the alloted weekend. No idea what objections we(fev) have put forward but the competition rules, unusually for RL, are pretty clear. Unless the tie is televised or involves a French team it will take place on the Sunday unless mutually agreed. If no date can be mutually agreed the rfl board will rule.

I'm not having a go at Andy, I was just questioning the relationship between the LSV and the club. I was under the mistaken impression that this was a forum and such 'discussions' were allowed.

I'm not demanding answers to any of my questions and if Andy decides to respond (or not), that's his prerogative. The title of the thread is 'Looks like it's Friday night' and my queries are all relevant to the topic.

He's already said that announcements will be made when the deal is done and that's good enough for me but that doesn't mean I can't raise the issue of the relationship with the LSV or any other matter I choose to ask questions about.

I thought all the club hype at the moment was the fact that we might actually get back into super league, which i believe is everyone's dream / objective.
So what are we going to do then, 17 web pages to discuss and debate EVERY time game is switched from Sunday to ...Thursday, Saturday or even back to Monday.
Come on get a Grip is it really such a big issue.....
