I can't. A good game, and a Leopards win will do me nicely. Should be a great night.

| It would be nice to get a SL season off to a winning start for once.
I don't believe Salford have won away to Leigh since 2005, and certainly haven't won at LSV. I'm hoping that tune doesn't change this time!
Having said that, Paul Rowley has won plenty of games at LSV...

| Looks like we are almost sold out on our two ticket allocations for the visit on Friday - Is it just the East stand now that is available for tickets?

Still quite a few left in west stand, and it now seems the last 2 blocks of the East stand have been unallocated- presumably that is now for you guys - and hats off to you, seems like a crackin turnout bySalford fans - be a beltin atmosphere

That is good to know thanks. Whilst I'm not into Derek's love of Leopard print, his vision for the first home game is superb, setting the bar high. Glad that Salford fans are buying in reckon we will have at least 1,750 in attendance.

"Skip a heartbeat" !
Yes Bongser has repeatedly been putting himself through 2hr+ Spotify playlists of Scouting for Girls that he might not be the churl when the Bongsettes are there for the first time (of many he hopes but doubts).
"Love-er-Leigh"!!

| Looks like we have around 6 missing with Addy / Lannon and Sarginson being the ones we know will not play not sure on the others maybe Sio. Will have to look at the Salford Squad later for clarity. What is the likely Leigh team and is anyone missing? I saw on a news site a couple of players might be out.

As starters we may have missing there is Sidlow and Sio, I am guessing that Mellor would have started for Leigh at 7.

| Competed well overall against last season's semi finalist. Few things I took from the game:
- They've got the best player in the league, which made a massive difference.
- Errors at bad times cost us (Charnley knock on)
-Played within ourselves for the most part. Seemed to throw the ball a bit more at 18-4 down, when it looked like the game was over. Got the penalty try then went back to one-up rugby when it seemed we had momentum.
- O'brien had a stinker.
- Need to learn how to get the best out of Lam. Needed to get the ball to him as much as possible, but got too obvious and easy to read in the second half.
- Ipape looked like he was carrying an injury. Ankle strapped and not his usual self, hopefully not too serious.
- Missing another big middle, hopefully Ava can get up to match fitness sooner rather than later.
All that being said, if the ref correctly calls a Salford knock on in half way around the 30 minute mark, we may have 2 points on the board now. We follow this up with two difficult away games but, bold prediction time, I think we'll win one of them (providing we have a fit squad)

| Salford much better team. Thought Brierley had a cracking game. They will be in top 6. Lachlan Lam was best Leigh player. He should be in a top team challenging for honours. He's too good for Leigh. All others looked average but it will take half dozen games for them to get up to speed of SL games after a season in the Championship or not playing for Warrington. They definitely need more grunt in the forwards. I worry when injuries and suspensions take their toll, which they will at some stage. I can't see anything but a relegation battle with Wakey which I hope we will win. In reality this season is one of consolidation and ensuring we stay in SL and, with the promise of more signings, we should stay up. We'll done Leigh. Good effort. Things will improve.

Difficult to appraise when playing a good side. Wakefield seem weak but also look at the state of that Leeds team
Shame we couldn't play them tonight. If we get lucky with injuries, we'll finish 10th.

| My prediction for the season is that we'll finish above Leeds.
As for tonight, thought that we competed well but we're too clunky and slow in out play. I think that can be fixed, but it's going to need some time. Still think we have enough now to beat some of the lower teams with what we showed tonight. Salford are a good side with a lot of continuity from last season, they're used to playing together and it showed.
If we want to stay up comfortably then there's a lot of improvement needed, but I think we've got it in us.

| A few hiding tonight, but other than his error, Charnley had his best game in a Leigh shirt by a mile. Did a ton of work.
Salford backed of Lam and at times, he should have made more of the ball. We missed Mellor who is awkward and really takes the line on. Hardacre was solid but I would have preferred him at Centre tonight with O Brien Full back and Reynolds SO.
Asiata tried too hard but we will come good. We need that second phase. Very conservative performance and the Salford strike players did the Business !
