I will happily take our chances with him on board Luppy, they say quite rightly that you never miss what you have never had, but it's also true to say if you don't give it a go you will never know how it would have worked out. I have supported Leigh for well over half a century and in all that time we have been a middling team with middling finances, a partnership of Derek and Marwen would immediately move Leigh up the ladder in the finance aspect, and it will be great fun to see how high that takes us, especially if the Salary Cap is increased as a lot of people are calling for.

I thought there had already been a clearout of most of the Board ? We have had some loyal Directors but most have not really had financial clout have they, they are more sponsors or could be deemed as Dereks 'Minnions'.

If Koucash comes on board, it really needs to be just the 2 of them (and maybe a referee ! LOL), but it sounded as Koucash is willing for Derek to continue to guide the club maybe for Koucash to babysit in readiness to take over eventually ? Every Business must have an exit strategy, so why not have one with 3 or 4 years with both giving it their all financially ?

It could be 1994 all over again or even the drab years prior to Millward but if they really focus on grass roots and solidify a 'decent' Leigh team with no overpaid superstars, the future could be really bright. Make the East stand a Schools stand and get it filled with local kids. Like the Academy, East, Miners, Eagles and Parkside, this should be the future of our club !!

Don't be negative yet, build slowly, build with young players too. Work in progress. Get some of the ones we want from this squad and then build if we can from there. Not many options as yet.
Rumours are that we will be OK with the finances next year.

Marquee players want £200k.Dont really see how salary cap can go up much, if at all.Teams will have to cut back on players, which may give non sl teams a chance to pick up some signings though they to will have a cap.Will that be, as DB has argued in the past, the same as sl. .
So out of that £5mill divvy up to the whole of rfl you want us to spend £2.1 mill minimum ?

Not on your Nelly will I cut down on holidays, and I consider that over the years I have donated enough to Leigh RLFC and if you put me on the spot and ask if I have had value for money, I would have to say I suspect not, well jot compared to other supporters of clubs not to far away who would have spent a similar amount of the implications.

Thank you for the lesson re the Sky deal but I am well aware of the rudiments, why would the Championship salary cap be reduced? and all I am eluding to is that with the double barrel of Dek and Doc we would be better placed than most to spend on a team.

I admire the enthusiasm of your owner but I think his latest tweet criticising Wakefield Trinity because he didn’t like what a supporter posted. The problem is that if he had looked at the picture associated with the person who tweeted he would see that he is actually a Castleford supporter. I may be wrong but I cannot imagine any Wakefield supporter would have a picture of a group of celebrating Castleford players.
