My opinion is that a few of our new recruits showed an arrogance and lack of respect for the shirt, the Championship, the opposing clubs, our owner, our coaching team and the fans!! Our current coach is more diplomatic and says they 'under-estimated' some of the afore-mentioned!!! |

I won't criticise individuals, publicly - they wore/wear the shirt and have my respect for doing so. I would seriously question whether they were'up for it' at the start of the season though. As for what happened after those first six matches? Well, some of the squad didn't figure many times during the rest of the season! |

Not much being said about today's game, though probably a good thing, I said we would have to bring in a few new faces to compete, it's worse than that, we will have to bring in new faces to survive.
Next season we could be in freefall unless something happens,Widnes staying full time and our rivals moving forward,we will struggle next week to beat Dews away,I'm worried ,what happens next?

Derek yer always in Benidorm  OAPS can't afford it.Afew fans will attend games whatever, but a lot won't, we can't afford to back pedal while others move forward , ext season the Dews ,Batleys ,and Sheffs, will be hard games.
I've been a season ticket holder for a fair few years now and won't change, but I think many will if things don't improve.Have a good holiday.  I won't be in Benidorm, but I won't be in Dews either.

Save your money Col the club is jinxed,
I have been going for nigh on 60 years, and all through that time everytime we look to be on the ascendancy, we get about half way up the hill, trip up on something and slide right back down again, no different again in this Beaumont incarnation this time round, nobody would have predicted this decline back in January it's just another example in the long list of calamities that follow Leigh RLFC about.

Col, I agree that compared to the beginning of this season we will have to go backwards,the Money from the RL being vastly reduced,but we can make some sort of fist of the situation .We spent money very librally last season mainly on overseas signings,again it's obvious our belt will have to be tightened, but let's try to make signing for Leigh an attractive move not a negative one,a lot of Clubs are already planning for next season already.
In our present state we would probably win 7 or 8 games next season out of the proposed 27, that in my mind would be relagation form,we have to get the crowds wanting to watch Leigh, yesterday's game wasn't a good advert.
It's been said we should go back to playing a team of Leigh players, no overseas players in an ideal world great,but we need quality players , fans can go and watch East or Miners ,for a team of Leigh players and save a fair few quid off the entrance money.
I've always said I'd do anything to help Leigh Centurions, and I stand by that, but help must start at the top, hopefully DB will reconsider his thoughts,and start the ball rolling. There is no quick fix, but we can't go into freefall, which will happen if we stay as we are .

Then you assume wrong Gubby,if you are who I think you are then I have had a few years on you following 'our lot' around, in that time it is not hard to make the observation I stated about Leigh RLFC, I never said I was fed up of it, but this season has most definatley delivered the biggest disapointment of the lot of them. |
