| Slightly off topic but If DB is saying he will not further fund the club if we don't make the top 4 does anyone know if plans are already afoot to bridge that gap and are we actively looking elsewhere for investors or suchlike should that eventuality happen.
We have to have a Plan B should our major backer decide he has taken it as far as he can regardless of what league we are in next season.
FWIW I think the lads we have can still make the 4 if we play our game and stick to playing RL and not be distracted by others (as per the Tornoto game), a good enough team to get the 4 but needs everyone with 'game head' on and professional discipline but some undoubtebly tough games.

Not sure they would and then what - too many of them had their best years behind them. None of us could have predicted the shocking start we had to the season. That said the team we have now is young gutsy and talented. How many posts were there on here last season moaning about one man rugby and boring tactics. This team plays good rugby, tackles hard and has scored some great tries against very good teams. We only have one long term injury and all the fringe players are of high quality and getting great reviews from the clubs they are loaned/dual registered to. If the team gets into top 4 it will have a good chance of making SL - if not this season then defo next. No doubt if we lose another game the sack the coach brigade will be on here.

He got on our supporters bus at Fev last Friday and addressed those on it, he was very emotional and thaked everybody for their support and getting behind the team even when we were getting "thumped", he was bangging his chest with his fist to show his heart was in it, he said his faith was rekindled and he was in it for the long haul, he would not desert us!

As Derek stated on the “Back Chat” programme, the current wage bill for players stood at £1.67 million.
Pretty sure he would have had to invest this season, but not on the level of previous seasons.
When you take into account if they don’t reach the Middle 8’s, the whole £1.67M will have to come from investment for 2019, unless they cut the cloth accordingly.
On a more positive note, I believe DB boarded a supporters coach after the Leeds game, thanked all the fans for their wonderful support. Very emotional display by all accounts of which he stated I was down earlier in the season when I made those comments. But today I’m right back up there again and in it for the long haul. I will not desert you.
That from a man who has lost interest.

| we look terribly light in the middle for me, Lovett is a massive waste of money he looks lost. Blagborough has never pulled on a shirt. Gregson is too small for a middle and too slow for anywhere else, Patrick I believe has big discipline issues and been told by KP to find another club. Mortimer isn't going to get in before Mickey & Hoody. Jack Owens has actually been the biggest surprise for me and should go to FB whilst Pete is out. Dezaria looks a lot too handle and is full of energy but cant understand the plays as he struggles with English.

Gregson is a tackling machine for me..Its fine having players who take you forward, but you need the ones who stop you going backwards. He fits into that category.
Dezaria struggles with English? Now that’s a pretty weak excuse given his experience.
Owen has played his heart out for the club, never grumbled and is turning into a good player. Deserves the FB spot.

| Well now is the time for everyone at the Club, Players, Staff and Supporters alike to pull together!
Last Fridays result was more a disappointment than a disaster! Before the match, I never truly believed we would progress to the Semi Final however, Leeds really were there for the taking and its no wonder Brian McDermott was nervous and had to resort to 'warning' the Referee to keep a tight rein on things after all, we are only a Pub Team We knew before the game Kendall was totally incompetent, everyone knew Pete Matautia had to go there was nothing clever about that, its all the other interpretations he made that make him incompetent! before anyone mentions Dawson! Matty just used the wrong words! I think we all know what the right one were!
I'm delighted if DB has now pledged to continue to back the club because more than anything, he is fundamental to its prosperity! There have been times when he has embarrassed the Club and himself, he will know he has made mistakes along the way but, where would we be without his support ? Last season it was wonderful to once again see us competing with the games elite Teams and beating some of them handsomely, none more so than our 'friends' from across the Borough It was brilliant to see our younger fans in particular enjoy beating those teams! We might not get there again this season but the long term future of the club is more important

I thought Gregson was signed as a second row, rather than a middle, as is Lovett. Seems KP likes to have someone on the bench that can come on as a 13, but cover second row or centre if needed, and Larroyer has got that gig.
Blagbrough may have not played for us yet, but posts on the workington forum suggest he's doing well for them, so question is whether a fully fit Blagbrough is better than a currently unfit Baldwinson? Whatever is going on with Patrick needs sorting out, on ability alone he would easily get into our best 17.
Given the minutes Hood is doing, he could find himself doing a stint at 13 during games, while Mortimer or Higham are on.

Come on, Derek does have a young family you know who also deserves his time and he had taken them all away on a long cruise, booked before the season had even kicked off. Nothing more than that. It's actually a blessing really he was safely away on a ship and not at Blackpool post match if you ask me.
As stated if anyone had seen Derek as I did post match, as the players were leaving the Featherstone pitch, you would quickly conclude Derek's passion for Leigh RLFC is as strong as it has ever been.
It's that strong burning passion of our club that got him in trouble on that social media thingymabob in the first place, and staying off it is one of his better made decisions.
For his own sake as much as the club's.
