| Quote: Draexnael "Well well, Jukes being showed up as the limited coach he always was.. When you have a coach who tells his players to stick to the gameplan irrespective of what's in front of you, you're in trouble.. Compounded by the fact the gameplan is something a 11 year old could dream up. 4 drives up the middle, then a kick so telegraphed or miss-kicked you give up possession.
Jukes finally got rid of the disruptive elements of the team (aka Rowleys lads) and surprise surprise there is no fight or heart left, bunch of mercs after a pay day going through the motions, why wouldn't they? They get paid either way, no loyalty to the club or town.
Ask at his old local club why they called Jukes Trigger...'"

I expect a 3000 word press release explaining why DB had a sausage butty and how he plans to burn it off with a bit of karate.

To be honest the Club is in a vulnerable position as the headhunt is now on the coaching staff, not the players! So that requires the management to intervene. Its a massive test for DB and how he deals with it.
Its an answer to fire, but the real question is who do they hire?'"
If the players are there, then a new coach wont need long to show a difference. Look at Saints at magic weekend last year.

Well, based on performance, they should certainly have had it twice already, this season!

Atomic, you highlight the cost to the Club in replacing the current Coaching team,a fact that has eluded most people, myself included .This morning I spoke to an Ex Leigh player who told me the cost would be very considerable to replace them,my answer was what is more important, getting to SL or staying financially sound
Obviously I support the Club as well as the Team, and wouldn't want us to go down the Keith Bell road again, but the comparisons are there, that year before a ball was kicked Leigh were redhot favourites to finish Top, by Christmas we were in the brown stuff and the end of season was disaster, now I think Derek has more no us than Keith Bell, but again in the cold light of day my question is ,Do we get rid of Jukesy and KC?Or keep the faith in them and try to stay focused on what we have?I'm not sure.

You know, very basic rugby, a drive from a forward/back after 1st/2nd receiver pops it off.

With, as a variation, dropping the ball, or running into touch on the short side - especially on the first or second tackle of a hard-earned repeat set!

Afraid it will be more costly to keep them, unless there are guarantees about funding next season. Even then, there's the cost of the drop in crowds to consider.

I think you were a drive short in your set of 6.

The one thing we will not have if this rubbish continues to be served up will be supporters except the real diehards

The 4th tackle we generally do try and pass it at least through 3 pairs of hands.
My point (whilst being facetious) is we literally do the same thing over and over.
The players get instructed to not deviate from the planned sets (which are basic as hell).
Don't know about people on here, but I played rugby for many years and you have to have the flexibility to play what you see, to go for a break if it opens up.. The players are instructed not to do this. Its poor coaching.
Add to that a kicking game that is none existent we look rudderless out there. There is no game management, there is no pitch management. You could watch 1 game of Leigh and know our entire move set and gameplan, and know we do not deviate from it.

I'm not privy to knowing what the players are told to do but, that apart, I can't find anything to fault, in the points you make.
When the fan commented, at the 'Meet the players evening', about our boring, predictable 'style' (I use the word loosely!) he was told that the expansive style didn't/wouldn't win us anything. Our current 'style' didn't win us many games last season, and it hasn't, so far this season. We are still leaking points, despite our defensive set up, and we certainly aren't scoring enough, that's for sure!

Can't disagree with any of that.
To be honest, it's rare we even get to tackle 4!

Unfortunately the coach cannot see the irony of how his safety first approach is actually leading to as many mistakes, if not more as when we expansive bordering on reckless!
