| Good result this against one of the favs in super league Holbrook described is as a super league team but not in the league looks like the lads gelled quicker than expected got to give the coaches credit for this and the game that was called off needs a bit of credit who’s decision it was (jukes) to as the lads had longer to work on stuff an extra week or so. Bring on Toronto next week

| My view of the game was that we started really slowly but then got into gear and were better than saints for 30 minutes of that first half. Forwards were fantastic especially Patrick and Acton. Larroyer looked big and strong running out wide and Craig Hall always looks dangerous coming round the back (left Matty Smith on his back).
2nd half a lot of changes on both sides which inevitably brought mistakes and players not really knowing where they needed to be in attach and defence. Right hand side defence in particular was dodgy. Happy with the performance and I'm sure the coaching staff got a lot out of that perfomance.

Vegetable Charlie and My God I am getting to owd for January Friday night Rugby League. Only just thawed out. Hey the lads made it a pleasant evening for me.
Carl Hall despite one glaring error , trying to feed Dawason is a pretty accomplished FB. Comfortable in defence and under a high ball. Able to attack at pace. A real asset and my Leigh MOM.
I am right in thinking this is only Drew Hutchisons second game of Rugby League in more than 12 months? When this lad is running with 2 hands on the ball, whoever the opposition is they are going to be nervous. Deft and pin point grubber for Hall to touch down. He is gonna have field days at this level with 5 or 6 games behind him.
Not everyone's cup of tea but I like young Jack Owen on the wing. Strong and powerful. A lesser winger would have been banged in to row z trying to squeeze his try into the corner. Not him, great finish. Not yet seen him make any mistake in 2 games. Not even positionally.
Young Nathan Mason caught the eye, big lad and caused St.Helens problems with agressive running. As did Lorne Patrick as well.
The young Dezaria continued his impressive start. This lad is shouting 'I want a Leigh Shirt on next week' and we will get success off his off loads. A promising youngster indeed.
Jordan Thompson was solid and a leader with lots of good talk, pepping up the young players with encouraging words here and there. He is a good aquisition for us.
My big mucker Mr Acton led the charge commendably earning good yardage, despite conceding the knock on that led to Barba opening the scoring. He did not play long minutes but he played them well and effectively.
I do hope young Ben Reynolds is going to grab this opportunity by the scruff of the neck this year. A couple of plays did not come off and he appeared to take wrong options at times but he showed the confidence to try and execute something. I like that and he is still learning how to play with young Hutchison.
Oh and Ben Barba is just different gravy. He should have been snottered at least twice but He was on another level at times.
Overall I walked, well more shuffled, off feeling the future is bright. UP THE COMICS !

Good overall review of last night's game, the sky is the limit for this Squad, I'm very excited by our recuitment, and not being big headed or over confident, I can't see us losing a game this season, although a defeat will probably come somewhere unexpected.
This Squad is better than last year for me,and when the dry grounds arrive it should be great rugby to watch, I can't wait for next week, to put the Wolfpack in their place. As you say Harold,UP THE COMICS.

| The grubber kick through for Craig hall's try was in fact put in by Jack Owens.

| No need to apologise lol, was just looking to give Jack the credit he deserves. His signing was met with ridicule by a vast number of Leigh fans but I think he has been in the top 3 of most impressive newcomers after 2 games, along with Craig Hall & Drew Hutchinson

I could not agree more with you. That would also be my conclusion.
( Despite my eyes not being what they were - Apologies to Jack Owen )

| Well fair do's to Jack Owen. i'm one of those who questioned his signing however, if he 'does it' on the pitch then great!
I have never been convinced of Ben Reynolds 'ability' and I saw nothing against Wigan to change my mind. I didn't go to Saints so I cant comment on that game !
The performances against Wigan and Saints were outstanding for a Team only playing their second competitive Match!
P.s. H , it was nice to see a conciliatory word from you on Jamie

He's no good - the lad is huge but couldn't bust through a wet paper bag. He was crap at Wigan, he was crap here, and christ knows why Saints then signed him. Predictably, he was crap there as well.
He's now where he belongs, in NL1.[/quote]:White Backgrounds/Gonzo the Great.gif |

Thanks for making my point , and you don't need to be an ex player to know that ( which you obviously claim to be ) or a coach ( something you aren't it would seem )
Easy to criticise others for doing what you cannot do isn't it ?
