Contract payments will always be an area of debate, whose worth it and who is not! I think it became very obvious to most during the season just who wasn't worth a contract at all!
Glen Stewart was hailed as a bit of a coup signing for Leigh and many have criticised his performances throughout the season however, his defence was excellent and he was usually amongst the top tacklers! the MPG showed he made over fifty tackles and that's not the performance of someone who wasn't trying! Whoever had him playing first receiver made a big mistake because this was not Stewarts game!

1 swallow a summer does not make though.. He was ok in the last game of the season, pretty poor for the rest.

Also tackle stats can be misleading as he could be the 3rd tackler.

I believe it was Stewart who took it upon himself to tell Riddy to go move and he'd play standoff, and then having a mare.

It makes no difference what role he/they had.They simply were not good enough.

Correct, not many of his tackles were first contact. Anyone who plays 80 mins in the middle of a team who gets hammered regularly is going to be making 40 plus tackles . Wonder what his missed tackles and metres makes stats were for the year?

He earned the same salary last year as Zak Hardaker. Which in utterly bonkers.

With regard to the recent contract negotiations I agree that some high end contracts need to be curbed however it seems that we are also trying to curb the salaries of some who were in the low end of the salary scale too. Players who do care about the club and may have been undervalued for some time.

At the end of the day, as the saying goes, if you pay peanuts....

also if you pay out more than what comes in you have a real problem around the corner. Derek paid for his dream, we should not be expecting him to do so again, I would much rather see realism and fans taking ownership of what budget is available by buying ST's. Realistically our income will drop by £1.5-2m based on 4000 gates, we need to cut the expenditure accordingly

When available its vital they are accessible to all, and that we support the ambition of OUR club - I will miss more than I get to next season but I will buy the ST and hope others in a similar position do the same - that way we send the correct signal to our owner and the RFL - like HKR fans did last year and Salford fans didn't.

Doesn't matter who we have signed or how many, its OUR club and £250 seems a small amount to ask custodians to pay to ensure its health is maximized when available

It matters most of having a squad to put out in whatever division,at present thats not the case. So again how do you support OUR club that currently doesn't have a squad for 2018.
