I agree Alan , but what were Mr Sale's motives when telling Mr Murphy in the car park of St Helen's golf club he wanted him to sign for Leigh as coach ?
Ethical ?

Ah, but I don't recall Tommy ever spitting his dummy out and pontificating about morals and ethics. Personally, I have no issue with young guys chasing after more money/adventure etc although, being old fashioned (well, old at any rate ) I'd rather see things done in a 'proper' way!

Well, I can think of at least one - although he's a Kiwi by birth. But, as I've said before, the Toronto franchise has little to do with the grassroots game that has been growing for the last few years, except for Eric Perez and even then, before the Wolfpack his primary focus was the Wolverines National team (which drew thousands) and not the local clubs (who play on parks in front of two men and a dog). As far as I know there are no formal links or feeder system between the Wolfpack and the existing teams in Ontario and British Columbia. It's a bit like BARLA vs the RFL.

Thats who he needs to grow the game,or he'll run out of players and money down the line.Is he not involving any of the local clubs in anyway in his venture.

The local clubs you mention are open age amateur sides at the moment. They aren't like community clubs over here with a raft of juniors at each age group to tap into.
An odd comment to make from a Leigh fan though as you don't run an academy at the moment do you?

| Being they are the only pro squad in Toronto unlike here.I was merely asking mac what input with the youth set-ups did they have. Must admit that really is odd.Oh and the academy is enroute.

Glad to hear it.
Why is it odd? Leigh have a 138-year headstart on them, yet don't run an academy, and have the added benefit of being able to draw from the big clubs on its doorstep for young players and some strong amateur clubs. It seems like double-standards from you really to judge them on not having a youth setup. RL in Canada is still very, very young. Give it chance.
Having done a search, Canada RL do have some sort of Junior RL set up. There's an U17 Canadian side, there's a Junior RL Development officer in Ontario. That's all I've found so far, but at least it's on the radar.
Ultimately, in a salary capped sport, youth plays a big part in determining a clubs success in SL. Sustainable growth like Wigan & Leeds usually holds out over short termism. But, that's in SL, and Toronto are League 1, and you know all too well that if you have the money & the enthusiasm, you can get out of League 1/Championship. Basically, it's not a priority for them at the moment, like it wasn't for Leigh last year.

| What are the academy eligibility rules DGM, and also more importantly u14/16 as it's those age groups that are more important due to all U19's being at other clubs today

| For clarity i want Toronto to succeed, ideally with a different coach who I wish fails miserably, because the expansion of our sport internationally is vital

I share that view too, but you still come across pretty bitter, but does it really matter now (re. Rowley)? It seems like a small element of Leigh fans have got it in for Toronto because of it, which is a shame.

Like hull fans for Cookey I suppose. We had built for 2016, what happened has made us when it could so easily have broke us, with the conductor seemingly hell bent on causing as much destruction as possible. Toronto or Halifax it would be the same.

Fair enough - your turn next though , when they get promoted and if you don't!
