Just reported this scamming site, has got so bad that I am thinking of having a break from the forum, this sort of thing should be spotted & blocked quickly by those who rum the RL FANS site.

Thanks everyone for your reports and apologies for the lack of action over the Easter break. We have taken this up with our advert suppliers and have responded to the two issues raised through the support ticketing system.

This is not something that I've personally experienced through desktop, iPad or iPhone, and neither have my Admin colleagues, hence our apparent lack of activity.

Our advert provider is committed not to provide any pop-up or pop-under advertising but as adverts are supplied by Google occasionally one manages to get in under the radar. Rest assured that we are trying to resolve the issue and the use of pop-ups and pop-unders is not something that we condone in any way.

Appears it's just creeping through on Android then.

For this edit I have moved to my laptop because harbwire.com popup will not let me edit my post. It is an iphone ad only appearing on android. I have an android phone as I have an aversion to Apple. Please sort this out as I would hate my phone to become virused etc through using RLFans!

On your Android phone? Either way my point is you shouldn't need security using the RLFans website. I used to trust it. I know it needs the advertising to help support it and make it as good as it is. I just think more care should be taken as to the type of adverts they allow.

Just to let you know how advertising works on RLFANS.COM and many other sites. We use an agent to source and manage our adverts (as we couldn't afford a full time adverts professional) and they in turn source their adverts, predominantly from Google or Bing. Both our advert provider and the originator do have strict checks in place to ensure that these 'nasty' adverts don't get through but occasionally a maverick advertiser sneaks one under the radar.

The only way that anyone finds out about it is when we get your reports at which stage we raise it as an issue and hopefully our supplier resolves it with good haste. When these problems arise they tend to hit many sites at once.

Please be assured that whenever an issue is raised with us we do try to get it resolved as quickly as possible.

Our advertising agent is reporting that they have now tracked down and removed an 'offending' advert which was giving pop-ups on some mobile devices. My mate keeps getting the as well, someone advertising "young hot Asian sl*ts in your area"..... I think it must be one of those smart adverts that picks up your favourite searches.
