Needs other players to step up and lead the team while Higham is off the pitch. Otherwise we'll be saying the exact same things about any young hooker that comes on for a spell.

Adam Higson was injured and was targeted by Bradford. We would have done exactly what they did in the same position.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Adam was at fault for their 1st try of the five at the end, but as I put on the other thread , it was our midfield letting a Bradford kick be re taken by one of their own and put in another kick that put him out of position

Steve, for the first try of their 'Lazarus act', Adam showed the winger the touchline, and he took it. He was beaten for pace. Also, I thought he should have done better with their next two tries, but he wasn't alone.
He did seem 'off colour' on Sunday. Ironically, his best contribution was probably getting sin-binned. Not only did he almost certainly save the try, but we enjoyed our best ten minute spell, while he was off the pitch!

| We start nearly every game with 4 forwards as subs ,against teams with real pace if one of our backs gets injured we are struggling to get the position covered. In my opinion we have needed a winger with genuine pace and have done for the last couple of seasons

| Don't think you can quite write Higson off based on that 1 game. Yes at the end of the game he was poor defensivly however that's very out of charicter for him, how many times have we seen him put big hits on players making a break? Might be wrong but this season I think Higson/Worthington or Pownall/Higson has been stronger defensivly than Kay/Armstrong. I rate Higson as a winger more than a or 2nd rower where he didn't do nesrly as well. He's powerfull & quick, a poor man's Ryan Hall. However I think going full time he's bulked up which has slowed him down a bit, he could almost do with losing a bit of strenght & gaining some more pace but that is being a bit picky.

| Without pointing fingers at individuals - maybe it's more to do with defensive patterns - we are currently leaking rather a lot of tries, out wide, and we are very vulnerable to the high kick to the corner. Presumably the coaching team is working on this aspect of our play.

Over on the Saints message board, they all (those who have commented, at any rate ) seem to be complimentary to Lewis Charnock.

Don't think Kay, Pownall or Higson lack pace. If you are looking for rockets then most of them at our level either can't catch, can't tackle, can't read a game or even all 3
