I've mentioned it before ,Piet Bothas was full back when I first started watching Leigh,I think he only played that one season, like me he had red hair, but he was a good goalkicker.Hope to see you at Bradford, have a safe journey.

| Ihank's Charlie I remember a cup replay at Leeds in the 60s ,the Teams had drawn 7-7 at Leigh on the Saturday I had taken a half day off from the Cable works and went on the .L.U.T. Coach to Leeds for the replay ,with time running out and losing 16-12 Stan Owen ,had the ball kicked over the fullbacks yed ran past Him gathered the all and scored behind the posts for Botha to convert and win the match 17-16 , I liked him

| Injury hit Platt's contract expired at the end of last season... He was not offered a new deal. Fact.
With centres Willie Tonga, Tom Armstrong and Greg Worthington all ahead of him IMO , first team chances would have been extremely limited unfortunately. Fair to say, Platt wasn't setting the world on fire

| What happened to Ben Reynolds, did he ever find a club?
Thought he was pretty decent..... could have been better cover than Harper or Foster

Ben is on a season-long loan at Dewsbury, to get some Championship experience under his belt. He had limited opportunities last season, behind Ridyard and Brierley. Those opportunities would have been less this season, with Chase added into the mix.

Although, as stated on another thread Harold, Michael's contract was up to December 2016.

I was told there was something announced on the clubs official facebook site or sommat and linked to the shirt sponsor launch. The were comments qouted from Derek Beaumont stating that Platt had not been retained and wishing Michael the best of luck in the future. A correct decision given our recruitment in his position.
Now myself not being into this social media malarkey I am unable to verify it but I am advised social media is now all the rage that has the young ones glued to their mobile telephones all day and where the club now has to engage its younger fan base.
