That's my point.It makes no difference were the defending SH is stood before the put in.Ryan was penalised for offside as he met the ball the same time as release from scrum so has to be offside.

The point being,the ref blew it up, not for were he was stood at the scrum prior to put in. Thats the point I'm making,yes he was offside but had nothing to do with his position prior to the put in.

I can't say I've noticed that we go to the blind side before. We usually have the winger or occasionally a forward taking a drive from stand off.

In the Leigh game we did it a lot.
So not sure if Brierley spotted something very quickly and tried to take advantage or I just have my eyes shut at scrums and Rowley knew we did it but even after he nearly scored on this move we did it a few times more. He was getting close each time.

Childs should ov waved play on and gone to vid ref as he did with Rileys and left the decision to Vid ref. Perhaps he didnt want to upset Reffy and co

Why would Childs go to the video ref when he was clearly offside. A referral should only be made when the ref is unsure. I am no lover of Childs as he often makes poor decisions but this was one of his easier correct ones.

The laws relating to offside at the scum have been explained to you. Do you think the defeat was a combination of Leigh throwing the match away and poor reffing decisions? Maybe if you can convince yourself he was onside you might yet beat Wakey.

The law is so out of date it is difficult to know how or where he became offside. The scrum half not putting the ball in to the scrum has to retire behind the back row of his own forwards. Then what? Where does it say he has to stand there until the ball re-appears or he can't move from that position? In days gone by when scrums were actually scrums the scrum-half had to retire to the back of the scrum but could follow the ball through the scrum and as long as he didn't get in front of the ball he was onside. The rule on this and feeding the scrum still talks about putting the ball in the tunnel between the two front rows, so who has decided when the scrum-half is offside?
