| Quote: CliffB08 "It should never have got to that stage. If you watch it back, HKR have the ball and drop it, which is a free play to Leigh as said by the commentators, therefore for it should have been a scrum with head and feed to Leigh.'"
It was never dropped. Was the clearest rip you'll ever see. The debatable point there would be whether or not it was one on one.

| Well it's a right can of worms this now. This happens with the best two officials we have in GB looking at it. Doesn't say much about the set of rules that they have to work with.

| it was a strange one...but the game had gone for us, not mathematically, but the way Rovers were playing, compared to Leigh.

I'm not sure they follow the same set of rules though.

| Pretty sure watching the replay will show Horne does not touch the ball, different angle shows he missed the ball but hit the arm. That goes as a loose carry.

He hits the point of the ball.

| We had a similar decision in the Hull Derby where Michaels pulled the ball out forward and the try was given. At the time, I said I would be disappointed if it was us that had done that and the try was disallowed.
For me, McCarthy had the ball stolen and then it was knocked out of the Leigh players hands by Horne's tackle. The decision for the try could have gone either way but I think if it was given as a no try then it should have been a penalty to rovers for a ball steal. Mantellato then would have probably kicked it and put the game beyond Leigh. Either way it is now history.
Good luck for the rest of the 8's and I hope we don't play each other again until next year in SL.

imo The call was stolen or lost on McCarthy, he obviously thought lost and it was forward, ie if Kay had fallen it would have been interesting to see what tackle was called. Its chip paper already and didnt lose the game
Good luck at Wembley
