Very Sad if true, a very nice man well respected by all who know him especially at Leigh Cricket club.

A well spoken honest professional guy of integrity who does nothing but good things for charity and the local community in his spare time and is very expierienced in sales and marketing.

YAWN .... let's have another bash the board thread. It really does get tiresome.

It is true. Dan Carty has left the club at the end of his probationary period by ' Mutual Consent'.

Welcome to the world of business. I spent a long time in it.

Lets move on. Exciting times ahead.

As you rightly say Harold business can throw up these kind of things from time to time, however the minimum probationary period you would expect at Director level would be a minimum of three months surely?

Having only announced a new board structure which Dan was part of only three weeks or so ago I find this one very odd but don't know anything about it and haven't spoken to Dan himself or anyone at the club so wont speculate any further.

All I would say is in a commercially very critical week and on the eve of the clubs sponsers evening and such a crucial event it would seem a strange time to end the commercial directors probationary period if this indeed is what has happened as you seem to believe.

The relevance is that Brown also came in with a big build up and very quietly let go very quickly, but even he was given more time to settle in than Dan.
As for picking Brown over Kay and Higson then no I wouldn't but he was deemed good enough to bring onboard as was Dan Carty.

No big deal Roy , everyone can be replaced , im back feeling refreshed now , the Caroli Clan around 50 of us have just returned from a break in the promised land (Blackpool ) a wild time though im tee-total myself .A couple of the Carolis are thinking of doing a bit of Sponsering at Leigh next year .

Ah well sometimes things aren't what they seem/ or promise and people are like that too !

What a crock of e that reply is. I compared the TIME that both employees were given to settle in ie Not very much and Carty even less than Brown. and that was all I said.

As for miss-reading it as another disgruntled fan, far far from it Im on cloud 9 about and I don't need you to tell me anything about how our club is run.

ps. Only in the top eight eh, I'd go for top 4 myself, but as you'll appreciate, we are all entitled to our opinions
